Interesting to read the threads and not sure if I am the only person in NZ to experience problems with the Emira's delivered here so far.
Handover at dealership this weekend. Unfortunately, after driving 3 hours to collect, I had to leave the car at the dealership.
Issues:
1. stuck fuel gauge reading about a third full,
2. yellow check engine light,
3. no cold air blowing when aircon on full low
4. no reading from front right TPMS sensor, hence throwing a fault
Last two issues came on whilst I took the car out just for a short drive as there wasn't much else I could do.

Strange to think these weren't picked up during PDI?
It's the first time I have not been able to drive away a new car in my many cycles of new car ownership over the years.
I just hope it isn't a loom issue with so many glitches as the very beginning.

Sorry to read this, that’s disappointing and I would have expected those to have been picked up during PDI.

On the plus side, I think those are all known issues with known fixes, so hopefully your dealer can sort them out. Some need a software update, which should be quick. I guess getting parts from Hethel to NZ may mean a delay of a few days.

I am confident the issues can be fixed. Just hoping this doesn't become a plethora of electrical issues. New to Lotus brand. Would be nice to know how any fellow NZ'rs that may read this thread are getting on.

Sorry to hear-- really sucks.

I would expect that your dealer would have done the full software update before handing over the vehicle (they certainly do in Sydney) so I question whether this is a software issue.

For the AC issue, it probably because of the hot air melting the plastic bearing for switching cold/hot air.
And for the repairing, Lotus UK needs to make an order to get the bearing from a Chinese factory then ship to England to pass the QC test. Then they will ship it from UK to NZ.
Hope you dun have this issue

Another Kiwi owner here.
Had mine since mid April. The little yellow triangle comes and goes as it is for a seperate battery for the emergency 111 button on the roof by the mirror, and should go out after a short drive when it charges up,if you stop and start again it should go out, nothing to worry about, mine hasn't come on again for the last couple of months.
The only other issue I've had was a leaking brake pipe which was fixed by Mclaren in 10 days after new pipes were sent from UK.
Your other issues are a problem that should have showed up on the pre delivery check.
Very disappointing on your first day but I'm sure when the problems are fixed you will thoroughly enjoy the excitement of owning an Emira.
Hang on in there and enjoy 👍🏽

It must take the shine off the experience when these things happen. Hopefully you can get that sparkle back once everything is resolved.

I’m picking my magma up the end of this month — dealer is bringing it over on the boat for me from Melbourne. Hopefully all the niggles will be worked out by then.

Disappointing to hear of these troubles.

I was hoping that these more recent Emira builds would not have issues.

Bear in mind these cars were probably built about 3 months ago, given the time for UK/NZ shipping and local registration.

1 - will be a fuel level sensor which is a fuel tank removal job, i had this exact issue as well. Its about a 6 hr job and that was with an experienced Lotus dealer in UK.

The A/C problem may be that the system is overfilled. My dealer drained the system and refilled with the correct amount and the A/C now works as it should. Mine isn't the only Emira that my dealer has corrected in this way.

There is a three hour software download now available in the UK which may correct many of the issues affecting 'early' Emiras. Mine is scheduled for later this month.

I have never had a new car with so many faults, and that includes previous Lotuses. However, it's a brilliant drive and easy to forgive.
