Official video game thread - Gamers unite!

Currently I've been playing Black Desert Online, mainly because I like the environment. It's a very nice looking world and nice to explore and roam around in.

I've been looking at all the previews of the upcoming cames for 2023 (and beyond), and so far the one that looks the most interesting to me is The Lies of P. It looks like a blend of a Dark Souls game, Bioshock, a bit of steampunk and something else I haven't quite put my finger on yet, but it looks intriguing. You play as Pinocchio on the quest to become human.

I'm not a Harry Potter fan, never read the books or watched the movies, but the new Hogwart's Legacy certainly looks impressive. It's a true open world with a lot of detail, and the gameplay looks like it might be fun if it's not too complicated.

We're just now starting to see games that are beginning to take advantage of the power of the 'new' consoles that came out 2 years ago. It's been mostly updated and adapted PS4 games up until now. The first game I would say really showed off the PS5 was Demon's Souls that debuted with the PS5, and of course last year's Game of the Year Elden Ring. Elden Ring on a PS5 and an LG OLED screen simply looks stunning.

My wife is a massive HP fan so I might get Hogwarts so she can watch along. We'll see... I'm really looking forward to the Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes this year. Both are 2 of my favorite all-time games and really got me into the survival horror genre.

I preordered Hogwarts Legacy… the architecture did it for me. At my age, though, I’m not a huge fan of sitting in front of the TV for hours on end.

Must say, the Emira in NFS:Unbound is incredible… I managed to get my *exact* Magma spec. Under the various light conditions is just blows me away.

I tried playing Horizon forbidden west as I really enjoyed the first game. But I’d forgotten most of the story that gripped me on the first one and found it very hard to get back into so never really put more than a couple of hours into it.

Don’t suppose anyone here is playing Apex Legends? Seems to be my go to game at the moment when I have the time. I’m fucking awful but still!

Not to say that Elden Ring is tough or anything, but the standard complaint is something like "Is it normal to die at the loading screen when you first start the game?" The answer is "yes".

Haha...me too for many of these, but as I am just a tad older my gaming goes back to the original atari...space invaders et al...sold the console last year (non-working order) for double what we paid for it new

Crusader Kings 3 looks good. Burn through a 'few' hours though by looks of things!!!
