OK talk to me about the Alpine 110

My mate had one and kept it longer than anything i can remember in recent history.... Sold it to buy the Cayman.

Hes into clios... On a trip over to visit the ring he elected to take his clio rather that the 911 GT3......

Hes had a 993 multiple RS4's one of the first Nissan GTRs to come into the country (Currently has a VW XL1) Megane RS Cup Carbon wheels thing Cayman 4.0 GTS which hes now selling in readiness for his new Alpine 110R arriving i think next year.

Another mate, a long term caterham owner, bought a current A110 as his daily (kept the caterham).

Apart from some slagging on here regarding the look of em I have not had any bad reports at all from two close owners.

I can imagine the Yaris being a cracker in the Peaks. The Alpine might be a little more singsong but faster ;-) Go for it!

I will give mine another year and then got for the Life 110 treatment. Heard it makes a great car even more sublime.
Always nice having UK based specialist tuners supporting a model. Between Life 110 and Litchfield that's job done I'd have thought

I know someone who has got one of the few Alpine R coming to the UK and sold his McLaren for the orange S said it’s very similar in drive to the MCL but obviously slower

Always good to hear first hand from enthusiasts 👌

This is deffo on my list if the Emira doesn’t excite me as much as this car did. Of course the Emira is much a better looking car but my first and foremost is the drive. I only had a quick drive so if i don’t think Emira gives me £78k of fun I know what £50 - £60k will. I plan to do another demo ride. Dealer said if you order one it’s circa 6 months. Other month Redline had a couple and sold them very quickly. I like the grey and think the green ( like the BMW Isle of Man green ) will be a nice colour. Leonard get yourself a ride I reckon you’ll be sold 😊 I took a little video of the car I demo but it’s too big file to upload. I’ve been watching quiet a few u tube videos on them get decent reviews.

Is that John Banks? They have a decent 30 mile route if you want a good test drive

I’m thinking this as my stop gap given probably won’t get the i4 until summer 23 or later at this rate lol

I bought my car from them. Harry Cunningham is the Alpine specialist. Had a 7 hour 360 mile drive back to Bedfordshire 😀

I've said on here previous, I used to have the megane rs trophy 300 and I loved the engine. With the exhaust valves open it would make ridiculous noise that made me smile even at sensible speeds. I realise this isn't everyone's taste, but for me i enjoyed it more than than my current GRY because of the aural experience.
The infotainment was horrible touchscreen and my biggest gripe.
The only issues I've heard with the megane are premature failure of the lightweight battery. I don't know if these are common to the alpine.

Good to know about lead time. I'd happily run the Yaris til end of March as that's when it's 0% Apr comes to an end 💔 😅 So perfect timing.

Oh yearh it was i just popped in as was passing and they were very accommodating I certainly felt like a customer which was very refreshing

I test drove an S - I liked the gearbox and the way it went down the road... the interior was a bit low rent, and the infotainment was dreadful - the position of the volume for the stereo is weird.. I did find the exhaust note sounded a bit synthesised and made the same 'burble' every time I let off the throttle.

I am not 100% on the looks - But @Leonard go try one...

I have ordered a base A110 in orange with the comfort pack - due end of the year. I looked at the GT but the only advantage over the base plus comfort pack was the more powerful engine which I wasn't bothered about. It was sublime round Thruxton and lovely on local roads on the test drive.

I've left my Emira deposit in place as I'm waiting on a base I4 - see no reason to cancel at this point as I suspect they won't be available until '24 in any case.

That is an option if I get something like the Alpine and end up loving it. Can push the V6 back to an i4 or V6 Base 👍

That's a great summary thank you for taking the time to write it.
Hadn't appreciated the Legende GT was the run out model for the 2021 gen. So maybe it is a bit pricey considering it costs the same as the new 2022 car. I will definitely go and drive one though.
Also hadn't appreciated that 4.0 718 GTS are now mid 60s as well. And so it starts all over again 😂
Leonard here a video of that colour

There are only around 800 A110 in the UK at the moment (after being on sale for 4 years) ... so by next summer it's easy to imagine it will be more exclusive than the Emira!
