It does seem odd that it is affecting cars in the exact same places, mine mirror yours for placement.

As for the Eletre, I had the R version for a couple of days 😱😱😱 Quick

One of the dealership drivers told me of a story this year of a customer who bought an Eletre being contacted by a Chinese phone number, he ignored it and thought nothing of it until he found his windows partly down the next morning. Turns out Lotus China hadn't updated the sale on their system and the internal sensors of the Eletre basically said someone/something was trapped in the car and so they dropped the windows down remotely. 🤔 Records were updated but it goes to show the control new electric cars hand over to central command.
That's worrying - I hope Lotus UK has a different procedure to follow!

I am happy to be a case study of one, or you can join me in my madness!

That's here in the UK. I didn't know they had sensors for heart rate and body temperature in them.
That's even more worrying. I'll have to look up an eletre forum and check out if others have experienced the same! Thanks for the information.

See my post a couple of days ago on here replying to NoelT.
I did. What you said was:

So who told you there* were heart rate and body temperature sensors? I'm suspect that there are such sensors in the car but and I'd like to know the source of the information.

that's a 2.0 color too right? weird to see no hole!

I never thought of the fan idea, but I definitely would keep the windows rolled down after water exposure. that's just me.
The Hole under the forward most part of the door is there, just like the 1.0 version, you just cant tell from the picture I shared. Unless you're talking about a different hole?

Watch Jayemm on Cars latest video on the Eletre. On camera he tells the car 'no, I don't need to take a break', presumably due to sensors monitoring him. The car has full Lidar and self driving capability but not turned on due to UK legislation, there will be sensors to check if you're asleep/in the drivers seat etc.

Oh ok. I thought it was missing the hole in front. Some are reporting it wasn't there in the earliest models I think.

Yeah, I noticed that too. You can do that with a journey timer (my old Peugeot 208 did it this way) or it could monitor how your steering inputs change (has your steering started drifting so you get closer to crossing lane boundaries). I've seen some cars have dash-attention sensors, too, but those aren't measuring your temperature.

As far as I understand it, you need electrodes to touch a person's skin to measure their heart rate. Measuring their temperature without contact thermometers would need an IR camera or laser thermometer, too. The Eletre is very technologically capable but I am skeptical it has any of these sensors. Can you imagine the press if they found out their car had an inward-facing thermal camera recording what you did, from factory?

Which press?

But also, I'm pretty sure with sufficient cameras you can monitor breathing and IR should be able to watch pulse/heart rate.

A couple cars already do a thing where they watch your eyes and look for drooping eyelids and focus drift.

Funny though that in a segment where self-driving is often a chased feature, they'd also have a "hey we think you are falling asleep" but it might not be the car making that determination.

Similar to what happened with Amazon Fresh. They claimed sensors and tracking would know what products at what prices were going in your bags and you didn't need to scan anything to checkout. However, it was just a warehouse of employees in India reviewing video and looking up prices.

I can certainly think of a tabloid or two in the UK that love a good bit of outrage, especially when it involves a “British” manufacturer. So I suppose that’s the press I had in mind.

I’m not convinced this kind monitoring is going on. It’s very complex for sensing what amounts to be a “bum in seat” data point. I am happy to be wrong, but I would like to see actual evidence that this data is being captured, which is totally reasonable.

Back on topic for the paint blisters: My car has been waiting 6 weeks for doors from the factory at this point, and the body shop is booking for slots starting 6 weeks out (mid-Jan). No doubt I’ll be waiting a while longer for my car to be sorted. 😕

Y'all got me paranoid.

That said, these cars are going to fall out of warranty eventually and keep having these problems. We are going to need someone to start producing carbon fiber doors.
