Rattle/scraping noise when accelerating from 1000rpm to 2000rpm

Hi, has anyone had the above issue? It’s quite a loud scraping/rattle, when accelerating in most gears (but loudest in 2nd), from 1000rpm to just over 2000rpm. It completely goes away after 2200 revs. It sounds mechanical and coming from the engine bay. It’s a V6 manual. Any ideas before I take it to the dealer?

From part of your description, it seems to be what is characteristically a sound of the V6 when engaging 1st and 2nd gears and low rpm. Take a look at the thread "V6 Manual - are these sounds normal?" and see if you identify with the same experience of other members. Hope it helps.

That's seriously low RPM, IMO. Other than idling and the tiny time it takes to get revs up from a standstill, I personally would not lug the engine around like that. Seriously, just always keep the engine over 2 -2.5 k ESPECIALLY when accelerating and I think what you hear will go away forever.
