With the weather in the northwest not seeming to end, I ended up having my Emira delivered to Boise...then the snow came! I was fortunate enough to see it yesterday for about 15 minutes between meetings, but then it snowed today, is supposed to snow tomorrow, then again over the weekend. I will 'hopefully' pick it up Tuesday. I'm dying since it is 10 minutes from my house and can't drive it, ugh!

Also, a question for the PPF experts out there. They are quoting $2300 for a full front and $500 for the rockers. What do you all think, should I do both? Price reasonable? This is from the 'high end' car dealership in town so thinking of shopping a bit, but also appreciate that they know high end cars so I know it will be in good hands. Love some feedback here.

And here are a couple pics I grabbed yesterday. Dang I can't wait to put some miles on it!

I don’t know about pricing in your area but yes I would protect those spots if you are not going full PPF. Plenty of people are not PPFing their cars but I would. This car throws rocks everywhere.

Many dealerships sub out PPF work to a business that specializes in it, then get the car back and add on a dealership profit charge. Don’t know if that applies to your dealership. Consider calling around for a quote from known reputable PPF businesses, which is a good idea anyway to verify pricing. The one benefit to a dealership doing everything, is you being able to go back to only one place for any warranty work.

Some like me, believe in PPF. I had a full wrap and think the front (including the full hood) and rockers to be the minimum. Others think it a waste of money and prefer to paint any rock chips. Your money, your call. Good luck and congrats on the new wheels!

This.

My full-body ppf was done by the dealer bringing someone in-house before delivery. It was bulk-installed (not pre-cut) STEK and was generally very well done, but there are two spots that are separating. It's nice to be able to hold the dealer accountable and not have to worry about whether the actual ppf installer tries to avoid responsibility. But my case I have a wonderful dealer who treats people well.

If I was uncertain about my dealer and knew a well-reputed independent ppf installer, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the latter.

Either way, get paperwork stating how long the material is warrantied by the film manufacturer and how long the installation is warrantied by the installer.

That cost is very similar to what my dealer quoted, though they also gave me an option for a different film material at about twice that cost. So materials really do matter here.

I feel your pain. I picked up my car on Dec 19 and pretty much been rain or snow ever since.
Was not planning on driving much till PPF on March 17.
Getting full PPF with ceramic coating. My car is almost the exact same spec as your, except I have black wheels (I like the diamond cut a bit better than mine). Every little scratch will show so I bit the bullet and had the whole car done. $6200 including tax for Full coverage plus ceramic coating

Thanks everyone! Picked it up yesterday and took it out for about an hour. So, so happy I got the Turbo. Will do a full front + rocker PPF in the next week or two, plan to do it before emptying the first tank.

Here are my initial thoughts:
1. Oh the sound...the sound! I've always loved the sound of turbos and with the windows down there is so much swooshing, hissing, sucking from the driver side vent it is so amazing.

2. Radio - Eh, but reference '1' above.

3. Infotainment - Being shared with Volvo I was nervous (I sold my XC90 because of it's infotainment), but was very pleasantly surprised. The UI is fast, good contrast, and has a focus on function over form. The Android Auto works awesome, best implementation of it I've experienced. I also appreciate the mute button/volume knob, and think the location is perfect.

4. Transmission - I agree with many others, the paddle shifter travel is very short, which sometimes made me question whether I actually pulled one or not. Not enough time yet to comment on the frequently discussed shift delay. One thing that it does better than any other vehicle I've driven is the rev matching. Downshifts, especially in track mode, are just glorious.

5. Profile/aesthetics - I love the profile even more in person. The thought of buying a Cayman over an Emira is just silly. Even if the Emira was $20k more I'd still choose it over the Cayman. Also, the Cayman always feels like a Porsche for those that can't afford a 911. No offense, just my opinion.

6. Interior - Mine has the brown interior and after seeing it in person am even happier. I think Lotus did a phenomenal job on materials, colors, and overall design. It is clean, functional, and all the buttons just seem to be in the right place.

I've only had the car for 18 hours, but overall first impressions are solid. For any on the fence, as people told me, go forward and any wait will be worth it. I can't wait to get past the break in and open it up!

Congratulations on taking delivery!

If I recall, the UI didn't come from Volvo, but one of the other Chinese Geely brands -- either Link&Co. or Zeekr comes to mind.

I have average length fingers and my problem is that the paddles are further away than the Cayman and RS5 so it's a bit of a reach at times so I ordered the Magnetic paddles since the CF paddles are screw onto the shift mechanism, I can add a spacer with longer screws to get them closer to the steering wheel.

Can you share how much you paid and if you went through a dealer or direct? Thanks.

Lotus dealer uses a pre-cut set that does not wrap over the edge in a lot of area and you can probably find a shop that will do a full clear wrap for same or less. I'm in CA and I paid a bit over $6K for full XPEL plus 2 coats of CC on wheels and calipers.
