Not a problem.. but not sure where to put this..

I don't really have any issues, just a check engine here and there that clears itself.. I hear about software updates and the water intrusion fix and a few other things... my question... IF I don't really have much going on does it make sense to go all the way to the dealer (3.5hrs one way) to get them to look at the car and do any and all updates? I worry like old windows os that with the updates something could potentially break with those software updates..

Am I being paranoid? Do I need the updates?

Thanks
Ryan G

My philosophy is if it ain’t broke….. don’t fix it. Even having my lotus dealer local to me, unless I’m experiencing an active issue I usually wait to have several things pop up so it can all can done it one shot.

The teething issues are still very present on the Emira and it looks like one software updates fixes one thing but impacts another. I would hold off until you start experiencing stuff or when the latest software issue is perfect

If you havent had the water intrusion issue remediated, I'd suggest that is worth doing pre-emptively, as the fix is a lot worse than the remediation. If thats being done, you might as well get the rest done too.

I have not had the water remediation done.. I hardly ever ride in the rain.. I do wash the car with a hose and water, so maybe I need to get that done asap.

Makes me wish they'd get that Sarasota location opened up sooner than later :D

I'll probably never drive to Orlando again once it does open up

Was this addressed at factory with later cars? I have a Feb 2024 i4 and it wasn't listed as recall work when I went in last week.

Mine was registered in March(Sorry dont know the build date) and it needed this work done as a recall. If the dealer didnt say it needed doing, then it most likely didnt, as they, just check what is pending based on the Reg number.
