Oh, I thought this more advanced version of CarPlay is more of a whole OS rather than just added on functionality. If it is an OS that replaces Android Auto then it's a bad move. Because Apple does not play well with others and have demonstrated that they don't really care about open compatibility. In fact they actively work against it. Imagine that only Apple devices stream music in high quality and all other non Apple sources only get heavily compressed equivalent, like they currently do for photos in text messages.Why do you say that? The current version of CarPlay actually works pretty good.
