Steering clunk when manoeuvring

I have a slight rattle occasionally when going over road seams. I'm away from home and the dealer thought it could be the rod that holds up the front bonnet came loose. I sense that it is something in front suspension. The car has been driving and handling great. Will address when I go in for my 1 year service. Other than this issue the car has exceeded my expectations.
I have the EXACT same thing. Car has been driving and handling great. It's driving me CRAZY. My nearest service center (from Minneapolis) is over 400 miles away, would like to know what you learned.

I will keep you informed, once I get to the dealer. At the moment, were roadtripping and loving the performance of the car. Took it on the Million Dollar Highway from Durango CO to Telluride yesterday. Felt like a magic carpet ride or air travel floating comfortably thru the twistys of So Colorado. No rattle at all until I returned to Durango on a few in town roads...even then rare occasion. Probably a simple fix. What I do know is this car is special. Loved my Porsche Cayman S...this is just different and in many ways magical. Puts a smile on my face.
 
I have clunking on low speed, full lock too. Anyone found a solution, or just part of the “character” of the car?
 
I had this problem, it seems like it was always there. Would get a creak coming from somewhere in the dash when manoeuvring at low speeds and big steering lock, especially backing up.

My dealer fixed it and their explanation of the issue is copied below (translated from Chinese).

“The technical manager said that our whole car body is made of aluminum. After a period of intense twisting and driving, there will be some energy needs to be released in some places. There will be a little deformation in some body connection places, such as the contact point of the connecting bracket. This is the reason why the connection point produces squeezing noise. At this time, you need to loosen the screw, then reset the bracket to the standard position, and then tighten the screw, so that they all return to the original state.”

So basically it needs various fixings to be backed off and then tightened again. It worked for me, no more creaks since they did it a couple of weeks ago.

This makes a lot of sense. I have noticed that the car creaks a bit at low speeds and turning. Doesn’t rattle but will creak now and then. This reset makes sense to me.

It worked for me. I never personally stressed the creaks too much as it didn’t seem too serious an issue, but it’s nice to get it resolved all the same. I’m guessing it’s a common/known issue.
 
My car is at the dealership bc of the creaking noise coming from steering g wheel suspension . They replaced steering rack but still is they are trying to figure out what is going on
 
Almost 1000 miles in and I had the same clunking noise recently. Happens at low-speed full turn, but not 100% of the time. After browsing through the forum, it doesn't seem like there is a clear fix for this issue. I will schedule an appointment with my dealer to have it looked at.
 
My car has recently started 'clunking' when its on full lock or close.. (so usually just when parking) I have done about 2500 miles now and this is a new thing.

to be clear, its not a creaking, its not a rattling, its a physical clunk or bump.. it is felt through the seats and through the steering wheel.. almost feels like one of the front wheels has loose nuts and is rocking on the axle causing a shock wave... it's quite disconcerting ...

I see this thread has been going for years - has anybody officially diagnosed the problem and prescribed a fix?
