Storage space

Has anyone checked if a compact carry golf bag fits in the boot with woods removed? One thing I may have to check if someone already hasn’t when I have my visit on Weds…

It should do, it was one of the design briefs. As well as the space you can see in the trunk with the hatch open, the space extends under the wings too. Some pics at the beginning of this thread.

First Emira just arrived in Canada, the Lotus rep had just arrived across the boarder and I wanted to answer the important question before I drove the car and forgot :). Will it fit? I didn't think so when I popped the boot but in fact - they made it with golf bag in mind :). Also, the space behind the seat appears to be non existent but I guess looks can be deceiving as the rep had a standard size carry on suitcase that he pulled out of it like Houdini...so there's that too.

Will post my impressions on the test drive in that thread.

I thought the most useful thing I could do afterwards was a little practicality test. Yes, it should fit two carry on suitcases behind the seats, even with mine back as far as it was (I only have one in the picture as I only took one, but it was under half way across). It won't take one in the boot. It will however fit hardcases for my "specialised sporting equipment" in there which I was pleasantly surprised at.

Can someone please test the back shelf with a standard roll aboard suitcase?

I'm hoping to fit two side by side standing up. For what it's worth I needed to scoot the seat forward about two inches to drive.

I've copied in a post from the test drives thread, which now appears just above your post in this thread and shows this.

Tried on some luggage.
2, “easyJet spec”, full size carry-on cases. 53x40x23cm.
Perfect fit. Seat slightly forward of fully back.
10kg each, of course.😉

Room for some soft bags on top, and that’s without even starting in the boot.

Which will take one case and plenty of soft bags.

Great to finally see this photo...thanks KJD...now I just need to see three of the same bags put in vertically (of each less than 7kg of course)...and if anyone would like to try to squeeze in a slightly german shepherd and border collie (not at the same time as the bags of course) without incurring the wrath of the RSPCA then I can happily tell if she fulfils all my reasonable GT requirements.

I’ll have a go tomorrow in daylight for you.
Might struggle with the dog bit though.
I don’t think 3 will fit. It’s about 110cm wide. So 2x 45cm leaves 20cm.

edit:
Just measured those cases and they’re actually 53x40x23.
Still won’t fit 3 in.

Yesterday I was seriously wondering if I could put my medium size cavapoo behind the seats. Put a soft dog bed behind there or something. 😁

30cm left with the two 40cm cases in.
And the seat needs to be further forward/upright but still ok at my (6ft tall) driving position.

Forgive me if it does exist officially from Lotus but this sort of stuff is absolute gold for prospective buyers (or more accurately convincing the spouse that its all a good idea)

Nice one chap top effort 👏

Anyone else notice that throttle houses only real negative was storage space, yet they somehow completley ignore the space behind the seats. Which from Harry's review, does hold a substantial amount of stuff. Odd that it wasn't mentioned.
Yep. Very annoying.

Could someone be so kind to give the exact measurement of the trunk, inside and the measurement of the access hole. Thanks.

A net or some sort of foldable storage box definitely be useful

The car I test drove last week at B&C had a storage net across the shelf behind the seats. Not an option so I assume this is now standard ?

It was on mine, standard.
I actually keep forgetting about the space behind the seats but at least it is there if needed.
Boot gets warm. Don't put your easter eggs in there!

Access hole is about 90cm by 35cm, but the latch cover sticks out so might make the depth effectively smaller.

Inside is an irregular shape but it’s about 150 x 45 cm max. Flat floor space is about 130 x 40 cm max but narrower at the battery cover and more so at the sides.

The usable height is 32cm.

This suitcase is 55x40x20cm.

Thank you for this very helpful information. I have a soft bag with wheels, bigger than a standard carry on. It will fit perfectly, plus 1 bottle of water maybe.:)
