Will be setting off tomorrow to join the Absolute Lotus tour in Scotland. A couple of days in the Lake District on the way up and then joining a variety of other Lotus for a gentle trip around Scotland including a day or so on Isle of Skye.

Felt the need to buy a motorcycle to match the colour of my Emira so have spent the last week or so not in the Emira but running the bike in.

That is gorgeous! You’re having a hell of a good year!
I’ve never bought a street bike. Speed is addictive and that’s a whole different level. Just know I would enjoy too much.

Thanks. I had a ThruxtonR with the full track racer kit, dolphin fairing etc before which wasn’t getting used as I seem to have outgrown the cafe racer crouch so my friendly Triumph dealer persuaded me to PX it for the Rocket. It’s much more comfortable to ride (although not as nimble of course).

That may be the best looking bike I’ve seen yet. Be careful! Lots of idiots on the roads!

I bought a Thruxton R as soon as it was released. Just put some high bars on it as "it wasnt being used"
So very nearly went to get a Rocket. Well done hope you are enjoying it

If you have the dolphin fairing you can’t fit high bars. I did keep the higher clip ons rather than the lower ones. But in 6 years I only did 1800 miles! Lovely to look at though.

That’s true. It has done over 5000 miles in under a year so at least mine goes further than the local coffee shop. ;)

All my mates had had all the sports bikes but the day then comes when a switch flicks and none of that matters and a GS (africa twin Explorer etc arrives)

They can do the same and more in comfort with a heated seat.

I have been riding since i was about 12 but now its just an amusement. I have a mint NC30 and just got a new CT125 imported from Japan because 🤷‍♂️

I have 3 kids 15, 5 and 3. One is a 'bit' disabled so I just cant spend the time with my stuff as I used to.
