great, well done!.....She was just excited as thats one less person before she finally calls me!!!

I just need another 57 of you so and so's to get their cars before I get mine..... which will clearly be the best to date.... with a meshless and no doubt syncroless gear change... haha

Todays news is insurance. My Caterham and then Elise were covered with Reis Motorsport and included 6 track days a year. It seems I cant be trusted with such a powerful car as an Emira (despite tracking my Caterham and Elise for the last 4 years with no claims) so they wont insure me until I have owned the Emira for a year and can be shown to be trustworthy with the untamed monster!

So Thanks guys- so now the big question Do I track it or dont I? Single day insurance is a piss take at £650/day. I can get a full years normal fully comp insurance via LV with no track days for £424. Looks like thats my only option at present.

Or consider tracking it without insurance, it's not a legal or track requirement and I think most participant to participant claims are excluded by the track's T&Cs when you sign on.

Very exciting! If I remember right I think we both had the checkout email on the same day or very close to it, so hopefully I'll hear Monday and similar delivery date. Fingers crossed!

Todays Update - a little bit mixed.

1. I got an email from CC at 11:30 with an invoice - very excited
2. I paid said email via my internet banking (not easy given Santander's security checks and then limits on individual transaction amounts, and then then bank sort code and account given by lotus didn't exactly match the banks internal account name ) over 4 separate payments.
3. My invoice number is 003 - shame its not 007.
4. CC rang at 15:30 saying if I didn't pay by 16:00 then delivery would be delayed as payment is needed 2 working days prior (thanks for the notice guys) - I said I had paid at 13:00 - they said they hadn't received it - i said i have still paid and its left my bank - they said they would check again and sorry for the confusion!
5. This evening they confirmed they had received 2/3 of the money and would check again in the morning and ring me. They said I am one of the first 5 (never mind the September 9!!) to receive a UK car - now even more excited
6. Looks like its going to happen on Tuesday. A bit more notice on the payment process would have been nice but at least things are starting to move for everyone waiting hopefully.

So excited for you Steve, my car if I ever get it is Magma also, ice grey leather, black pack, silver wheels, black callipers, privacy - cannot see getting it until Q1/2 next year the way they have messed me around.
JCT600 my local dealer. I live in Hilton Village, between Stokesley and Yarm. Love to view your car.

I often drive through Hilton on my way to Helmsley via Stokesley and Chop Gate. Looks like we could have a large Emira contingent in a 15 mile radius.

Seems cheap. Issue is, if it’s a 2nd car you can’t use your no claims bonus

Lol Randomly driving round Darlo to spot Emira out in the wild . Literally I kid you not when I first knew about the I8 there was a guy in Durham had one and I stalked him almost. I rang his electric gates and asked if I cud video his car he literally invited me in and I did a whole video on his car, then I saved enough pennies to buy one myself the year 1/2 later. Loved that car also the flippy out doors the cockpit was such a cool area to be. Same guy has the Audi E tron now

Relative’s friend rolled his Clio 182 on a track day……. Awkward!

Agree with Tom, I've never taken track day insurance.


In the four years you've been taking your Caterham on the track, how many times have you stacked it?
I know insurance is there for the what I'd, but will you drive it like a hire car in the track? I know I will stay within my limits.
