UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

Update on UK V6 manual;
Deposit 14th July 21
Checkout email 16th March 23
Identity check email 28th March 23
Call from CS to arrange day for factory collection 28th March - available from mid next week
Will go to Hethel after Easter as busy next week

After a long wait this last bit seems more speedy/efficient

I’ll email CS and ask them to confirm my car has the latest software. I’d still like to know if it is possible to check myself - like on a phone !

Side note, i never seem to get a CS response via email... but, could you also ask them if there is a min age for car collection guests? My son, 9, is into cars (loved Goodwood) and he keeps mentioning engineering as a job, likes looking at the F1 cars in bits on the TV etc... I think he would enjoy the factory tour but want to make sure he can come before I tell him.

Have to be 10 or older: https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/factory-tours

Maybe they will make an exception for one of their valued customers, as they like to call us. I‘m sure somebody knows somebody that can make it work out. And maybe your son is 10 before collection day anyways.

Yeah, I would just up usually, but the link above says you should be able to prove age, I guess via passport.

I can ask them, tbh, as they have dicked me about for years, made the car more expensive, and delayed me into oblivion, I think ignoring a year of a child wanting to see their factory is not really a big ask

Thats a shame :( I think we would have really enjoyed the trip
you could use the same wordings of lotus,

Your son manufacturing date is more than 10 years ago, although he was delivered a few months later, therefore he is MY 2013.

Hope it works!

Seems like others have answered this ! My guess is it will be an insurance thing so no latitude from a legal perspective. 😞

I was a 8th July 2021 Deposit
Check out mail was 8th Feb 2023
Took till 2nd Mar 2023 to complete check out as it froze on me!! - just another LOTUS CC problem to frustrate me - they seemed incapable of resolving - made me start it again and then they messed that up as well losing my finance application
Lotus CC asked for V750 detail for private plate on 8th March '23
LCS contacted me to say they received car on 16th March '23
Deposit paid today 29th March '23
Pick up car 31st Mar '23 (Assuming Lotus register car in time!!! not confirmed as yet and had to resend V750 yesterday)

I have said this elsewhere - I will NEVER buy another car new from Lotus - it has been the most painful new car purchasing experience I have ever been through as a buyer, at no point are you made to feel special in the process and the dates above do not reflect the lack of communication, failed Lotus commitments and lack of support/attention from Lotus despite repeated efforts on my part to move this to completion.

If they make another car I am interested in I will wait 6-12 months and get a 2nd hand demo or low mileage car from the dealer network

Hello all. Would someone be able to tell me the options for paying the finance deposit? Can you pay by credit card (Amex)?

The initial deposit can be paid by credit card. If you are financing the car then any cash you’re putting in as part of final payment needs to be paid by bank transfer.

Does anyone know the transfer limit if you are paying cash? I believe that they use Stripe to process payments and I am sure that it has been mentioned that there is a transfer limit on the receiving side. I am aware that there is a limit on the sending side if you do the transfer through online banking (e.g. £25K with Lloyds standard account). If you do the transfer in branch the limit is much bigger and not an issue (£250K with Lloyds).

Its bank dependent, I can tx upto £30k with my bank on line.

You can TX with some banks over the phone and limit is higher (not sure how high) when I closed my Lloyds savings acc I TX across far more than £25k in one transaction via the phone with them, so might be worth giving them a buzz.

...edit, sorry I see you said receiving side - not sure on that but I would imagine if you can send it they can receive it

I just paid via Stripe, there is a daily limit for my bank so I paid over 2 days.

Does anyone know the UK OTR costs above the purchase price? ie. tax and registration?

OTR costs are £1100 for home/dealer delivery. £200-£300 more for Factory collection

Thanks. When / how are these paid? does this happen via the dealer?
Lotus add them to your final invoice to be paid in full a few days before your delivery or collection.

Also don't forget £2365 Road tax for the first year and £55 registration fee, also added to the checkout and final invoice from Lotus.

I've already paid a deposit, and a £75k invoice from Lotus - no road tax itemised on the invoice, will there be another invoice?
