USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I'm hoping mine is with yours on that ship... one of the first orders placed. Did they tell you which boat??
They didn’t. if it’s the boat that sailed off on the 19th, it will be in Baltimore on the Fools Day, if it’s on the next boat that leaves around now that will make it to Baltimore on April 8th.

Hi! I'm new to the forum. I've noticed you got an email from Summit NJ. I'm #3 at Summit NJ and i haven't received any notification of my car on a boat etc... if you don't mind my asking what number are you at Summit?
I just got the "it's on the ship" email also from Summit NJ and I'm number 14

BUT if they said it was on a boat, it could be the one docking "soon"... lol. Still hoping it's the one unloading today.

I'm #9... so I sure hope to get that email soon!!

“Big if True”
I could not resist
I'm not going to give out the contact. I don't want to burn a bridge there. While I wish it was standard practice to provide this kind of granularity to buyers, Lotus currently does not do that.
I can vouch for the fact that Time2Fly has a contact, and that he is not a Big Fat Poopy Liar. Had I known he was making schmoozie progress with said employee while we were at the factory a few weeks ago I would have tried to muscle in on that action myself.

In all seriousness though, Time2Fly is providing legit information, and kudos to him for making the contact, respecting the position, and keeping it low key. 👍🏼

Hi Everyone... My EMIRA arrives tomorrow in Dallas. Given the events that have changed in my life since depositing a lifetime ago, I am going to be selling my car with delivery miles only. You can view it here. Going to be listing it on AutoTrader in the coming days, but wanted to offer it up here in the event anyone is interested. Asking $115k to try and recovery tax, delivery, fees, lost interest earned on deposit, etc. If interested, please see the car at the following link and DM me: https://www.lotuscars.com/code/4YPTV455Q8?shortUrl=true

Sorry you have to sell @JKP. I'd take you up on it in a heartbeat if the spec matched.

Much appreciated!
Have you considered selling your slot at the dealer rather than your purchased car after taxes? If you’re asking price is that high anyone who buys it will basically pay taxes twice. I have seen people selling their slots for the price of their down payments (to recoup)… so if I was looking, I’d keep an eye out for slot sales.

… not that it’s unreasonable to ask 114k. The price would justify an Emira now with the added price premium of having to pay more to not wait. If the dealer allows it though, it might be easier for you to sell the slot, not the car… and it would be a much more attractive sale.

Possibly.
I am #28.
I am still trying to figure out what to do with my M2, and I am out of the country for a few weeks. So hopefully, I will be picking up my Emira right when I am back home!

Yeah, problem is that the dealer I purchased from was not here. I was living somewhere else. Had it professionally shipped here.

Total get that and agree with your decision 100% as well as agree that Lotus should be providing that to us directly. With that said, you mentioned: "My car build has slipped a week to the second week of May". May I ask if this is referring to the start of your build? And also, when were you originally told your build would start when you finalized your order? (since I think most of us were given a vague two month guidance on build start date). Just trying to get a relative sense of your build timing vs mine.

I was originally told December. Then March. Those from my dealer. Then it turned out I didn't have an allocation and they were blowing smoke up my ass. Order finalized the first week of January but by that point I was talking to Hethel. Got my day of production at the beginning of this month including what time of day.. 1pm on the 7th. That's slipped now to the 15th of May and it's the 14th of 27 cars to be built that day so afternoon again but closer to noon.

Geez, not only down the exact day but the exact hour! Quite a contact you have there!
As a point of reference for anyone who cares to this level, my order was finalized first week of Dec, so about a month before yours. I was told "March/April for build start. I asked my dealer for status on March 14 and was told my status was "locked" meaning my build is underway. Unfortunately I hadn't asked for that info previously so no idea when my build actually started. But in a worst case scenario, if my build started on that day, March 14, then it started 3 months and 1 week after I finalized my order. In your case, it looks like it will be more like 4 months and 1 week after order finalization. So yep, continuing the Lotus tradition of no rhyme or reason.
So my last question, if I can push this at bit further is, it's been roughly guided to me that production is taking approx 2-3 months. Do you or your contact know if production is actually taking closer to 2 months or closer to 3? Or something else?

My build will start on the 15th and finish on the 16th. I'm hoping to try and catch as much of it as I can, just for fun.

There was an incident in Baltimore port involving a large ship that collided with a bridge destroying it. Terrible news for those who lost their loved once as a result of this.
We might wait for our cars a bit longer.

Indeed very serious and sad for those families affected. Rescue Divers are in the water now, wishing them the best.
