Just imagine, most of the 700 NA depositors are not on here posting. The volume of emails we generate probably amount to a drop in the ocean for Lotus.

As innovative as people are on this thread, surely someone could set up some kind of spam-bot to send hundreds of emails a day to Lotus.

I think Deep Throat indicated to a forum member the cars missed the boat.

They are next scheduled to arrive on the MayFlower, travelling over Thanksgiving, when they arrive we will trade furs and pelts for them.

Does anyone have a contact at customer service for Lotus USA - DM me if possible. Dealer is giving me the run around on allocations. Need to sort this or I may be leaving Lotus. Not because of the car, but if I can not trust my dealer I think the ownership experience may be even worse. I just can’t fathom that a 2021 depositor has yet to receive an allocation. Am I the only one here that hasn’t configured a car with a 2021 deposit?

That is simply unacceptable. Lotus should be beyond appreciative of your patience. You are the kind of enthusiast that Lotus should look to build a long term relationship with. It disturbs me that some dealerships are treating good customers this way.

Tell me about it - I appreciate the words, but unfortunately I can’t put the blame solely at Lotus. (Although they could have done better on delays to N/A) In the end, the dealer distributes the allocations. Lotus could have done more with oversight, but not sure it would change anything. I will be sure to voice my concern before I get my deposit back. I realized I wouldn’t be receive a car in 2024 today - and that was a a bridge too far.

I am not sure why they are telling you that you won't receive a car in 2024. Just as we don't know when we will be getting our cars, we also don't know when we will NOT be getting our cars. For all we know, once the cars starts flowing they will be able to quickly deal with enough orders to get to most/all depositors from 2021 and some de 2022. I would at least wait until the cars starts shipping and the situation to clarify a bit before making decisions one way or the other.

I watched this and found it a little over the top - maybe it's just what I am used to for US dealers vs UK. He refused to bring the car to a service center for it to be looked at because of the driving distance. After months of back and forth, Lotus finally agrees to come pickup the car from him. He insisted on having his doors replaced, which is *not* how cosmetic blemishes are repaired, and no manufacturer will agree to that without first seeing the car. And then he complained about not having a liked-for-like loaner. Again, I am not aware of any manufacturer that does that. Anyway, I may just be coming from a different set of expectations.

I'm a big of a Z-car fan as you'll find having owned and driven almost them almos exclusively over my life including a '72 240Z, '90 300ZX Coupe, '95 300ZX 2+2, '95 300ZX-TT, 2010 3Z0Z 40thAE & current 2016 370Z Nismo.
I had given up on Nissan ever releasing the new Z, but was excited when it was announced; but have only been disappointed with each bit of news since. The local Drive Exotica purchased one for track rental and promptly dumped it within a month because the chassis because it drives more like a Mustang with excessive understeer. When Nissan revealed the Nismo specs, there was some hope; but even at $65K is overpriced and it is only being offered in automatic. Nissan has lost their way and I have no interest in it whatsoever. There are so many better alternatives in this price range that it's a non-starter even for loyal Z-car owners.

Have you driven a Z32 recently? The reason I ask is that I drove a few cars I lusted after in my youth and they were pretty meh. What do they say about meeting your heroes.

So around the 2:40 mark, he does explain that Lotus says to bring it in so they can look at what needs to be done. He decides that is not ok since he lives so far away. While I understand that it's a pain in the ass, it's not precisely Lotus' fault that you purchased a car knowing you'd be unwilling to bring it in if necessary. I don't know a lot of brands that are going to let you self-assess what is necessary or send in photos instead.

Does Lotus customer service suck? Probably. But you also can't complain about customer service and complain about the length of time to repair, when you are part of the reason the process isn't moving forward.

No I agree, lotus asked to look at the car take it to them. The time it sits at your home is on you.
Never take delivery of a vehicle with known defects…
The wiper issue is something that will be addressed at the first service with a program update…The AC issue is something that needs to be repaired prior to delivery…
Paint needs to be perfect when you take delivery…
I am 280 miles from the nearest Porsche & Lotus dealership… That is my choice and my challenge when things go wrong…
Hear in the USA we are very lucky because Lotus is learning from these issues and correcting them..
Fixing manufacturing processes and design flaws is time consuming…

As for lotus not communicating they have said the first cars will be arriving in December…
I would rather wait longer than deal with manufacturing issues…
