You can select the V6 auto on the car finance section of the Lloyds bank website not sure if that makes a difference.

That’s not long been updated.

Same here
Same for me, I want the V6 soundtrack, it was fantastic in my auto Evora 410 Sport. In sport mode the downshifts sound amazing and I am what you may describe as a very steady driver! When you are slowing down for traffic, traffic lights etc it sounds like you are doing a million miles an hour (when you are only doing 10-20MPH). :ROFLMAO:

Thanks. Still no change on the insurance comparison sites. Will keep an eye on them.

For the Evora the CO2 emissions of the automatic's were higher as the speed box.......
The undermentioned figures probably give an indication for the reason why the Emira V6 is limited to only 400 hp (due to CO2 emission limitations ?).....

EVORA 400 (MANUAL)................................CO2 emissions........225 g/km.
EVORA 400 (AUTOMATIC)........................CO2 emissions........230 g/km
EVORA GT 410 Sport (MANUAL).............CO2 emissions........234 g/km
EVORA GT 410 Sport (AUTOMATIC).....CO2 emissions........247 g/km
Thanks for this info. Perhaps they have made some changes to the engine setup/tune (since the Evora) to suit the manual Emira and it does not work for the auto and they can't dial the auto down enough to get the figures they need.

Where did you get the emission figures for the Evora 400/410?
I have had an Evora S1 NA IPS and 400 auto and both were lower UK road tax than the manual models which was due to lower emissions.

Hi All

I wanted to set up this new thread for the V6 Auto box as we still have very limited information on this version. I am a little worried as we have seen no press cars so no review's and what is strange is that it seems there are a lot of us with auto box cars booked in for a October build November delivery.

Are Lotus holding out on this and will just start delivery of production cars? Or will we get a chance soon to see a review of the car being put through its paces.

Or are Lotus worried that people might switch to the I4 DCT or even switched to a manual V6?

Just wanted to know some opinions as other than the V6 auto box delay it hasn't been talked about much.
I’ve seen and sat in a LHD auto in June so they are around. I was auto then manual and then back to auto. Mr indecisive but pleased having seen the aluminium paddle shifts, awesome.

I've no idea how car insurance works in Spain, but that may give you clue possibly. Do they have insurance comparison sites like the UK, if so, can you get a quote for an auto Emira, or can you ask a Spanish broker for a quote. If the system is similar to the UK, you won't be able to get a quote without type approval (the EU equivalent) as the car will not be loaded onto the insurers databases. It may work completely differently in Spain but just putting the idea out there.
Thanks, just checked in the Spanish comparison Rastreator,
Emira shows, but no option to select Manual or Auto, so not much help regarding type approval.

By the way, lowest quote with Zurich is 1125 euros full risk.

Exactly same price as I pay for Evora GT 410 Sport

Problem is at least for me in Spain that the dealer has no info at all about the type approval.

Therefore I am as blind as you guys in UK.

Out of the 12 allocations for FE V6 in the whole country, at least 3 are Auto, including mine and one for the dealer
You're going to finish With a manual... and you know it.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Yes, there are a couple of examples of auto cars (possibly pre-production), but without Type Approval, the issue is that even if they are production grade/quality cars, it makes no difference as they can't sell them without Type Approval and we can't insure them (in the UK). I think it is likely that the issue will be worldwide. With the information and assumptions that we are working with currently, I think they have a very difficult problem to address.

Lotus are making this much worse potentially with their 'no comment' approach, but having said that I don't really know what else they can say without complicating the issue any further and sharing any information that may be of a commercial confidential nature that they don't want competitors to be aware of. The whole thing is a mess and will be damaging to the brand if they don't get a grip of it all soon.

I really do hope that they can get it sorted not only for the heritage and brand of the company, but also all the folk who are dependant on Lotus whether they be staff or the supply chain. And most importantly, being very selfish, for the customers who are waiting to hand their money over for these fantastic cars.

A while back (early July), those of us down under got an email from Lotus Australia that there is ‘a delay in the certification process for V6 Automatic transmission cars’ which was expected to be resolved by September and nobody believed that. I guess now you do!

From the europa.eu website:
"The manufacturer makes available about a dozen or more pre-production cars that are equal to the final product. These prototypes are used to test compliance with EU safety rules (installation of lights, braking performance, stability control, crash tests with dummies), noise and emissions limits as well as production requirements (of individual parts and components, such as seats or steering wheel airbags). If all relevant requirements are met, the national authority delivers an EU vehicle type approval to the manufacturer authorising the sale of the vehicle type in the EU."

So this could be a pretty big delay with all of the problems in delivering cars in whatever form...

I have learned things on this forum that I never thought I would need to know about, while filling the time and the defining silence from Lotus.

It is possible that type approval hasn't been granted yet but Lotus are confident enough about it being granted before auto customer deliveries start. For example, if an issue arose during approval and Lotus had to fix and re-submit, then they would probably have a high confidence approval would be granted. They would just be waiting for it to go through.

I know for V6 manual approval they were planning to start building cars before type approval had been granted, but after having made their submission. They were doing this to try and maintain their timelines. That didn't work out, partly due to the parts supply issues but also because they didn't get approval first time round and had to fix something and re-submit.

Why on earth would I wait for a i4 when for the same money I can get the Mercedes gt amg which is a far better engine and far better car all round .
I don’t understand all this hype for a 2 litre 4 pot 🤣🤦🏼‍♂️
I’m an amg lover and that car doesn’t do one thing for me .
If they was to cancel the auto v6 then I wouldn’t purchase a emira I can get a far better car else where .
They will of corse deliver us out autos as and when they are ready and I’m sure it will be in the not to distant future people just need to kick back relax and calm down because half the people on here actually sound like the are having a break down 🤣🤣 roll on Christmas where some of us should have a beautiful set of wheels on the drive 👌🏽

Thank you for providing some hope. I wonder if any autos will make it to the test drive roster and how Lotus will handle things if there are limited cars available needed for test drives at opposite ends of the country.

I'd previously hear they would have a central pool of demo cars for dealers to call on, for example if they needed an auto. But I've not heard anything more recently to confirm that's still going ahead.

I suggest it's worth logging a request with Customer Care for an auto test drive, as it's likely the majority of UK dealer demos will be manuals.

As promised, for us on the Auto box waiting, went for a spin today with the Evora GT Sport 410 and here some downshifts:

Thanks !
I believe we are not going to be disappointed at all with the Auto.
Only if they can deliver the car without huge additional delays!
🥂
