V6 Autobox News

So this news is just devastating. I'm at a total loss. Wow. I have a flight & hotel booked to go test drive the car next week and I learn this today...in this manner, at this hour. This may have done it for me. No. I can't accept this.
The lack of transparency is incredibly poor.
V6 auto customers could be delayed by almost a year now and with zero updates

I can't trust any of the information they release. It comes late, and then weeks or even days later it's totally different. I've made so many adjustments to accommodate I'm actually really stunned at this point...smh

I'm at the stage where I just don't want to give them my money out of principle to be honest

Hi
First of all my names not Tom lol, all I can do is pass on the information given and I can completely understand why no one would believe it, me myself I don’t know where I’m at, I will just leave all my deposits in for now Emira/Eletre/Carrera T and go with what ever come first, all the deposits are still refundable so got nothing to lose.

As for the Eletre it wipes the floor with the Urus on track in-fact most most super cars which is hard to believe when you stand next to it. But I suppose it depends on what you want ICE/EV
haha...sorry... i call everyone tom..... why not? its a good name, hell even my second name is thomas ;)

It's the same auto box. So the only upgrade might be further tuning of the transmission software. They tuned it to a good place in the Evora 410/GT. Not sure that they can do too much more with it?

Again just a Lotus statement I can’t comment further but if it’s even slightly better I’ll be happy 😃

So I have a confirmed update from the Lotus guys last night at the Eletre launch event at Lotus Sussex.

V6 Auto box
So not good news I’m afraid the V6 Auto box is nowhere near ready and only manual cars will be built for the Uk in 2022. This decision has been made to help Lotus get as many cars out the door as possible in the short term. Although uncomfirmed the V6 Auto will begin production around March/April next year, this also goes for the rest of the world.

I4 Emira
The I4 will not go into production until after that so probably looking at Q3 2023 at best.

FYI Manual V6
308 uk cars will be delivered total before Christmas. Demo cars arrive this morning at Lotus Sussex and Lotus Kent. If you are going to todays or tomorrows Eletre event at Sussex then there should also be an Emira on display.

Rest of the world 🌎
Some manual Emira’s are being built in 2022 for Europe/Australia/USA /China
Auto V6 inline with the UK next year.

Eletre
3,000 uk cars expected to sell in the uk next year with a 1,000 deposits taken already.
This car is an absolute beast and really does rival the Urus for half the price. Lotus are confident they will sell 100,000 cars worldwide. If your still on the fence with this car go and have a look at it, just like the Emira so much better in the flesh 😊
A proper statement.
Thanks for the useful update. As with any info from Lotus people, we have to be careful about the accuracy.

If the info about the further Auto delays is true, then their handling of comms about it is inept. They clearly know there's an issue, as your chat shows and from their vague LCC messages about info coming soon while also telling specific dates to Manual people in the same batches.

They should be honest with the Auto folks and give them some options, such as switching to Manual or i4 or Base, or getting a refund. Stringing them along month by month and allowing rumours to filter out via staff at events is a shabby way to handle it.

Shabby is a polite way of putting it

The email from Lotus Australia confirmed that auto V6 FEs will begin manufacture in Q2 2023. Their comms have historically been spot on so I have no reason to doubt them.

I wouldn’t be surprised if I get my 30 day email in the next few days lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

To think the latest email from Lotus still says I’m firmly lock in the build schedule with an October build November delivery.

I’ve been locked in since March/April and unable to change my spec and now being told by someone at this event my cars over 6 months away 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is bad really really bad, I reckon if I put a deposit down today I would get that car before the one I ordered 16 months ago lol

I’m numb I don’t know how I feel anymore sort of given up caring, such a shame as this car really is super special.

One of the best pieces of business / life advice I got was 'never over promise and under deliver' and another was 'you can only manage the truth'. Lotus have pretty much done the opposite on both. The truth might not be what people wanted to or hoped to hear but at least armed with it we can make better informed decisions. I still want the Emira but if I'm waiting until April 2023 for it and know that, I can then go buy something else in the interim rather than wonder if next week or month the Emira fairies will make a surprise delivery.

Seriously, is anyone worried if your car gets a little bent and you need a front fender and headlight? How long will we wait and worse, how do we possibly plan a rental if it’s your only car?

Christ on a cracker. So, looking at 2024 delivery if, like me, you kept your powder dry until you'd seen the car in person at the UK roadshow... 😑

Me too! I let my M4 go in August when I felt pretty confident “September would be the month” Doh!

Back in July a Lotus senior exec assured me the initial batch of auto V6 boxes were physical at Hethel, thus my order was in a batch that used the onsite boxes. But, as we know, items can get stolen, can be declared unfit for purpose or get lost in the ether. Time will soon tell.

Or they aren't type approved which is seeming more and more likely
