What are some of the quirks or as I refer to them as annoying "features" of your Emira?

My two are:
~ The car has key-less go. But you still have to get the fob out to unlock/lock the car.
~ The radio activates as soon as you open the driver's door. This is REALLY annoying when I'm cleaning the car and have the Bluetooth speakers playing music in the garage as it turns off the music in the garage and starts playing it in the car.

YES!....the bluetooth going on when you open the door makes no sense. I have a speaker going when I am cleaning the car and then the audio switches to the car. Also agree it should have touch lock/unlock, and also don't like how you can't keep it in sport mode continuously once the car is turned off.

I very rarely listen to the sound system and find it very annoying that I have to turn it down to zero every time I start the car.

Why doesn’t it remember that I had the volume on zero when I turned the car off?

It doesn’t come on very loud - just loud enough to hear that it’s on - but it makes no sense to force the driver to wind it down again and again and again…

Touch steering wheel control for sure. I don’t like the way key is shaped. In my pocket keep press the buttons.
YES! Agreed!! so annoying!
Holding Unlock does not roll the windows down.
It should I think most people confirming works for them. And holding lock, rolls up windows :)
Hill start brake is my biggest pain in the backside
Lucky my version already addressed. I think forum threads confirm just software update at dealer :)
Because, like, the environment, man... 😏 🦆

(edit: I also wondered this, but fck knows California has no sense of humour on such issues)
LOL!! EV then, no? Why an emira?! My wife's old supercharged Land Rover had 500+ HP AND 500+ torque... got 10mpg... LOL!!! But she loved it despite how much of a tree hugger she was. But EV for convenience hard to beat. Once we got an EV as an extra car, most use cases ending up being EV :)
My most annoying feature are the capacitive sense switches on the steering wheel. The detent of the switches doesn’t do anything, except to just give you the feedback that a switch has been pressed. It’s the capacitive sensing circuitry which does the switching of the cruise control etc. How did I find this out? Hmm… I prefer the wearing of driving gloves, the very thin leather variety. And couldn’t figure out why the left and right thumb button switches on the steering wheel weren’t working. Until it dawned. The solution is to cut out the thumbs of the leather gloves at the first joint. Sorted! Happy Lotus driver. ;)
100%!!!

I recall seeing some default volume settings.

I’ll have a look, thanks.

But it’s pretty bloody stupid that it doesn’t remember the previous setting.
All my other cars do.

If I stop the car for two minutes to put fuel in why would I want the stereo on a different setting when I get back in?

Ridiculous.

That's a fair point for sure.
It's actually pointless in my view. Do you really think that a thief, who is out to steal your car would actually consider a door window any kind of deterrent to obtain access to it? Yeah right!
I agree with your initial complaint, key-less start without key-less entry is not just annoying, it's plain dumb.

It's an honor to be annoyed by Lotus. With that being said... Noise from gear linkage, exhaust finisher easily stained, headlamp condensation with headlight use.

I use android auto. One of the settings is to not start playing music when the phone connects To the car. Wonder if that might help you.

I don't mind most of the little quirks, I just get used to them. The one that is truly is an issue for me is fan temperature. If the outside temp is much over 70F, then after just a very few miles, the air coming out of the vents is way too warm regardless of temp setting. So, I either have to turn off the fan and open the windows or turn the AC on to keep the cabin comfortable. Sometimes, I'd like to just run the fan without the windows open, but It's just impossible.

I haven't mentioned to the dealer yet to see if it's a problem with my car or just a normal Emira thing.

If I have the HVAC fan on at "61F" with AC off, all is well for cool air on a cool morning. But if I forget myself and rotate the temp knob (many thanks for a temp knob) toward cool, I am ambushed by full fan and AC on. Annoying. Then I immediately turn off the AC (button press on the temp knob) however the AC seems to remain on for a few minutes before honoring my request. By then, the ducts are below dewpoint and when the compressor kicks offline I get the dankness. Oh why, WHY didn't I leave it at 61F!!!

But it's my Lotus. and it has AC. 😁

I leave the AC on all the time (which also keeps the compressor lubricated and prevents seals drying out, etc.) , set temperature, press “Auto” - it’s not just simple AC - it’s automatic climate control - and the system takes care of everything - including drying out the “dankness” here in the UK…..

Exactly! lol

Does your non A/C air also get a lot hotter than the outside temp air after the car gets warm?

yeah, I guess so, but I realize that when it's not raining I drop my window 2 inches most of the time for some induction noise anyway.

I suspect it's the same old situation that the Evora and Elise had since the radiator plenum releases air upwards. I had hoped the new outlet design wouldn't let as much hot air flow directly into the HVAC intake. But, it sure seems to!

Presumably you're referring to the finish on the exhaust tips. Are yours black (Full Black Pack) or Silver? Mind sending a picture of the stain damage?

I appreciate the tip, but I very rarely listen to music in the car.
If I have anything on it’s just the radio.
And the problem is that the radio comes on every time I start the car, regardless of whether I had the volume turned down to zero when I previously turned the car off.

I just don’t understand why it doesn’t remember my previous setting.

Out of the 10+ cars I’ve owned in the last five years this is the only one that does this. Truly bizarre and annoying.

Mine are silver.... Sorry but It doesn't feel right sharing unflattering pictures...I did notice staining on the black tips as well but it's less visible.
