What are the covers in the cabin to either side of the firewall window?

I saw this in ta YouTube video of someone showing off their Emira. On either side of the firewall window there are snap on covers that look like the ones used for attaching car seats.

Anyone know what these are for? Luggage restraints maybe?

Sorry I don't have a picture.

It's the fuzzy dice hanger.

For reference.

I reckon anchor points for a large lugage net. They are too far away to the sides (none in the center) for racing harness or child seat anchors.

They are top tether anchors for a child's car seat mounted in the front passenger seat. The prototype cars had the LATCH system logo on the cover plate.

They're present on both sides in order to support both RHD and LHD cars without a production difference in the shell.

Interesting. I was thinking something like that but then @virtualmacho posted lower anchors.

I mean it's an arbitrary anchor bonded to the body shell. You can use it for anything you want. But it's positioned to provide upper child seat tethers as the first purpose. Should be good for a shopping bag hang point or something as well, with an appropriate carabiner.

I'm back to this. My car will need to carry a standard cabin luggage piece eighty percent of the time. I'd use the trunk if there was luggage that would fit, but it looks like it will have to be behind the driver's seat.

I'm trying to figure something in my head for a bag restraint that allows a bag into it when the seat is flipped forward but holds the bag when the seat is folded back.

Brainstorming is appreciated.
