What are you driving until the Emira arrives?

Current daily driver is a 2020 Golf R Estate.
Special car is this beautiful Ferrari 355F1.

The main reason I've decided to buy an Emira is because it is the first new sports car in many, many years that has excited me in the way the 355 does (first since the 458, in fact. But that's out of my league!)

It is, in my eyes, like a modern 355.

Not too big. Not so fast that it's basically unusable.
We know it'll be fabulous to drive, and it's truly beautiful to look at.

Perfect!

Can’t wait for the Emira to be built. Driving a BMW i8 at the moment. I used to have an Evora. Excited to get back into the Lotus brand.

Oh I’ve had a I8 loved that car 🥰 loved the flippy out doors. Loved the cockpit and the false acceleration sound that came through the speakers did the trick. That car was the most popular for people coming up to me to talk about it and have a closer look. What colour do you have I had the silver

Now I want to drive one because everyone here in the States seems to really like the Golf R!
I’ve driven the new RS3 and to me the current golf R put a bigger smile on my face and you could hear the crackles - couldn’t even hear the exhaust in the RS3

Great write-up, luckily nothing happened to you or the car. The Evora looks great in that spec, it‘s looks really grew on me during the last few months. If I got it right, the Emira should be a bit softer than the GT 410 sport even if fitted with sport suspension. But most importantly it reconfirmes that the Cup 2s are transforming the car from being usable to being a toy. You can only really use the car when the weather is good. That‘s ok if it‘s not a daily for the most part, but if you plan on doing bigger road trips, you can really get in trouble with those tires.
Thanks.
I went Sport for the Emira.
Even if it comes as hard as the Evora I´m ok with it.
I´ll reserve the Evora for fun drives and do some long trips on the Emira with Eagles.

Congratulations on not being new to Lotus anymore! Great looking Evora and good to read your first impressions. Glad to hear you survived the wet Cup2s incident, sounds scary and amazing to have had no damage.

When you see the Emira show car you'll now be able to imagine that Lotus ride and handling plus the V6 noise with a new exterior and interior.
Thanks Tom.
definitely lucky this time.
can't wait to see the Emira tomorrow1

I sold my M4 as sold it at a profit, so I’m car less, family car is Discovery. Depending on my delivery date which is not yet confirmed I’m tempted to get a golf R as don’t want to miss summer driving. My car before M4 was a R8 610bhp - what a awesome car ! so Emira has a big hole to fill. So my daily driver at the mo is a Orbea Rise emtb 🥰 Also M4 was a great car but bigger than I need

Just read this and your original post again. I’m jealous. Been trying to justify having both myself.
Gosh you are lucky! :)

Love the 355.. My First ride in a special car was a jaguar E type V12, the first in a ferrari was a yellow and black 355.ex girlfriends dad's.... Perhaps I should've stuck with her 🤔

Every sports car I’ve considered is compared to the 911. So, last week I finally got my first true sports car which I can enjoy with all 3 of my kids until my i4 FE comes likely by Fall 2085? Manual 2006 Carrera S. Also lost the vote with the kids all wanting a convertible, but turns out they were right it’s already been a ton of fun here in Southern California! Crossing my fingers I can hang onto this one and add the Emira to the garage but likely I will have to choose just one……

That is just gorgeous, classy as hell.

Been driving a Model 3P since 2018 with a host of aftermarket suspension/brakes/wheels/tire upgrades, making it the ultimate daily driver for me. But it's still 4000lbs and a driver's car it is not. With Trofeo R's on, it managed consistent 1.4 lateral G's and similar lap times to a stock Mclaren 570S at my local track, while costing almost nothing to run. After 45k miles and a cross country road trip, it's still hilariously fun as a quick commuter so I've kept it.

The Emira will hopefully fill all the enthusiast holes it's missing... Mainly lightness, mechanical feel, noise, manual transmission, etc. Hopefully I'll soon have the best of both worlds.

My other considerations were an Ariel Atom 4 (overpriced in the US) or GT4RS which is essentially unattainable sadly due to demand and absurd dealer markups.

I'm on the hunt for a vehicle to purchase now and eventually sell/trade in on the Emira. What's everyone else driving until your Emira arrives?
2019 Mazda Miata RF 30th Anniversary Edition. Hope Lotus offers paint option in Orange!

On second glance do you have passengers in those cars? :D

Do you want to offload the car or the passenger? :ROFLMAO:
Great seat covers from Italy. Got them on ebay

Daily driving a Civic Type R and a C8 on the weekends now. I will be replacing one of them in January when the Emira is supposed to be here. Both are a lot of fun!
