Anyone here track their Emira? If so, did you track the car 100% stock or did you upgrade parts? Particularly interested if you changed out the brake fluid, pads, tires, etc.

I survived Sonoma Raceway in the Emira.
My longer thoughts are in the description of the video, didn't want to spam here.

Had a few notable 'moments'.

Also the incorrect rear pads that EBC is cool with being incorrect, are building their lip in the rears - as expected. They don't look great and are at least somewhat falling apart - likely similar to the post above.

Getting after it! Nice. Always fun to see track vids of the Emira.

I did Sonoma the day after you with HOD and had similar inconsistent pedal feel throughout the day. Running EBC RP-1 pads and Castrol SRF fluid on stock rotors (V6 Manual, Sport with Cup 2s). I never got huge fade but the amount of travel was wildly inconsistent throughout the day and it wasn’t very confidence inspiring.

The RP-1s also have an aggressive initial bite which can upset the rear balance of the car if you hop on them too hard. Given the inconsistent amount of travel, I found myself fighting with this balance issue throughout the day.

I’m going to leave the RP-1s on for a bit to wear down some of the surface transfer and then have to figure out if I put the OEM pads back on (<1500 miles) or something else that produces less dust. @gcmak, are you happy with the EBC Reds for the street? It’s a weekend car so it mostly sees Highway 9 and don’t want to compromise too much street performance.

I was considering the RP 1 pads for an occasional track day. Do you recommend an alternative? Not a track junkie at all. but I also don’t want to ruin my new ceramic pads so am interested in what track pads make sense.

The RP-1s are the only ones I've tried on the Emira. I was happy with Pagid Yellows on my F80 M3, less happy with the Advance Friction Clubsport pads on my 992. Before that, I've had good experiences with PFC-01s on my E36 M3 and Hawk HT-10s on my Evo, but that was many years ago.

A comparison between 714 whp Nissan Nismo GTR and I4 turbo, at NOLA MSP. First let me say that I haven't had many laps the last few years at NOLA, (although I was the second car on track their first open track day) so times might be better with more track time. A couple months ago my best was 1:55 with the GTR, and then a few weeks ago 2:03 with the Emira. Emira Sport/oem Cup 2's. GTR Cup 2 325 square with Hawk DTC70/60. As I just got the Emira a few days before the track day, it had everything stock, fluid, pads, etc. In about 90 hot lap minutes I took the front pads down to around 15% left. Not a lot of fade but not a lot of great stopping power). When I get back to Florida this fall, I will install the best available at the time slotted front rotors, (and hopefully upgrade the rears too). I have a set of front EBC RP-X race pads for front. If I have to run the oem rear drilled rotors I will run something close to the oem rear pad to take it easy on the rotors. I hope that with improved brakes and getting more used to the Emira, I can get the lap times down around 2 minutes. I am also planning on hitting Barber MSP more, as the Emira should do better there than on a higher speed track like NOLA.

Just an opinion on doing a lot of mods. I have had 5 Nissan GTR's that I have tracked over the years since they came out. A couple of stock ones that retained the factory warranty and a few with mods that killed the warranty. The stock cars were trouble free but more mods meant more issues. I am replacing one of the GTR's with the Emira and, I look forward to not making all the trips back and forth to shops to fix yet another mechanical problem and to having a factory warranty. Hopefully my days of paying for a weekend at the track and then only getting a partial session or just a couple of sessions and then heading home will be history. Although my first track day with the Emira it coded something about fuel temp and after being cleared the first time it reappeared and went into limp mode. The track just puts a lot of strain on a car and brings out the worst unfortunately.
