Anyone here track their Emira? If so, did you track the car 100% stock or did you upgrade parts? Particularly interested if you changed out the brake fluid, pads, tires, etc.
 
Correct, a more track-focused alignment will reduce tire wear when driven on the track.
It's harder to tell what's going on in the video because of the wind noise obscuring all other audio and you don't have data/telemetry captured. doesn't seem like you're over-driving the car, just pushing hard - which is nice to see too. I'm surprised - but perhaps I shouldn't be - that they allowed motorcycle helmets to be used on track.

I looked at my app. There is a possible wi-fi connection to a OBD. I'll see if mine works.

I am driving hard. In the straight away out of turn 7, I can get to 117mph. Then slam on the brakes before the hairpin turn. I'm braking pretty hard. I'm in sport mode. Maybe the ABS is kicking in. No vibration though. I get satisfaction for the speed and slow down. Not s much for the slow turn. Same at 3. So I'll just drive to not squeal the tires on those turns.

I ran an expensive simulator with my actual car. I get better times on the track. If I go much faster I spin. Lol.

Has anyone used tire temperatures (measures using an infrared thermometer before and after sessions) to determine optimal tyres pressures or alignments issues? I currently lower the tyres pressures so that the pressure is as per OEM spec straight after the session (hot) and also use tyre chalk across the width of the tyres to assess how much of the tyre is being used. This is for V6 manual Sport with Goodyear F1.
 
Is there any consensus on what pads are best for mixed track and street use? After reading this thread I think I want to upgrade the brake fluid and pads before tracking. I keep seeing conflicting opinions on EBC yellow and blue. Any insight appreciated.

If you believe this chart, then Blue NDX is the step above our OEM pads. Normal Blues are an equivalent to OEM pads. Yellows would be a step below.
I will be trying the Blue NDX pads but I won't be swapping between pads during the same track day...at least I hope I don't have to due to problems...

Anything that's rated mixed useage will be a compromise at both ends (unless your track has very small braking demand), especially if you have a lot of track experience or a fast paced driver. So it will largely depend on where you're willing to compromise. Aside from CCB, I don't have any experience with CCB brakes, so can't comment there.

I've never been able to find a pad that works well on both ends, so now I just swap pads for intended use.

I'm a track novice and will only do a couple of track days per year. 90% street and 10% track. I'm hoping to get better pedal feel and less brake dust. I've been looking at EBC YellowStuff and Rotara H6. My friend also recommended Ferrodo DS1.11. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

The challenge in making a pad recommendation without knowing what you like in a pad is very difficult since so much of it is based on feel and preferences, aside from just the temperature windows. Things like initial torque, torque linearity, modulation, release characteristics all play a factor in what pad you can select.

However, just based on what you have provided suggests that a high performance street pad may be able to cover your needs (90% street/10%track @ novice skill level).

Are you due for a pad change? Otherwise, the OE AP Racing/Brembo pad should provide sufficient braking in your application, I think.

But if you're set on trying the EBC family of pads, the EBC yellows should be sufficient to start with since it'll be less of a compromise in street manners. If you end up finding the yellows do not have enough fade resistance for you on track, then move to the blues or a pad/mfg that offers different characteristics entirely.

Thanks! My car has only done 1200 miles so no need for brake pad replacement yet. I just don't like the weird transition from weak to strong initial bite of the OEM DS2500 pads. The brake dust is also crazy. I would prefer harder pedal feedback and liner progression.

Btw the EBC pads go from Red -> Yellow -> Blue for less aggressive to more aggressive driving, right?

Yes, I agree that the OE pads are grabby with weird release characteristics at slow speeds. I changed my pads for the same reason. It seems like the Emira's, atleast in the US, are spec'd with Brembo or AP Racing pads, I don't think they are the DS2500 anymore. Mine came with AP Racing pads.

Sorry, I had the yellows and blues mixed up. You are correct in the progression towards track work.
