Hi,
I posted a few weeks ago after getting my first check engine light with about 300 miles on the car. That code was p1302. Also got “Engine reduced acceleration” warning on display.
That all went away the next day.

Last week, I dropped off my car for full PPF and ceramic coating.
Two hours after I dropped it off, I get a phone call from them after having the car washed.
They said upon starting the car they got a low oil level warning and check engine light.
They checked the oil level and that was fine.
They checked the code and it was P223D.
Something to do with the o2 sensor.
When I got my car back this week, the check engine light was still on. I cleared it today, drove it 15 minutes without any problems. After restarting the car a few hours later the check engine light came back again.

The car has less than 500 miles.
Any ideas what can cause code P223D? Again this happened right after the car was thoroughly washed.
Should I stop driving it?
Will call the dealer on Monday but wanted to see if anyone had any insights on this?
Thanks

Could be water in the front fuse box/loom. Apparently there’s a seal that wasn’t/needs to be installed. Apparently water off the windscreen runs down, through the vents at the top of the bonnet (hood) and seeps into the fuse box. It’s a large dealer repair if that’s the case.

Yea. My guess is pressure washer got something wet.

I think you are right about the water. I have a feeling that it might have burned out the o2 sensor. I erased the code twice. The cel doesn’t come on after initial drive but on the second start it comes back.

That's right, there is a recall due to water seepage into some connector box. Your dealer will then install a flexible plastic membrane that prevents water from seeping through to this connector box.
Of course, I cannot say with 100% certainty that this is the cause of these specific error messages. For me it was a combination of EVAP error messages, they also had to replace a part for this, although under warranty. The problems with the membrane mainly caused problems in the air conditioning and ventilation.

This makes sense.
However, my car was built about 4 months ago. Why has this problem not been fixed already? These cars have been out for a couple of years. I can understand if it's the first year but this should not be an issue by now.
Anyway, I'll be headed to the dealer this week.

After a certain VIN number the EVAP water shields were added from the factory. Given yours was built recently it should have had it installed then.
It was supposed to be a short term fix until they designed the components to be more water resistant. May not be your issue as it primarily affected the AC blowing cold or the fan not running.

Its possible something in the rear got wet or just another Lotus quirk to chase.

I think there’s two issues here. I don’t know if the ‘HeVAC shroud’ also covers the front fuse box or if that’s another, separate shroud, but there are definatly two separate issues created by water ingress from the front windscreen. My car had no issues at all with the HeVAC system, but error messages for the front lights, horn and safety restraint system. The garage said these error messages were caused by water ingress into the front fuse box/wiring loom.

Could be unrelated, but when I first got my car, I was getting check engine lights off and on for about the first 1000 miles. I think it was the battery after sitting in shipping/storage, because I have not seen it since and have been driving the car at least weekly to keep the battery charged.
