3rd Cat Delete and Valve Controller Opinion

Why are some owners having to expand pipes and suffer leak issues?
Are the replacement pipes not machined to match the Emira exhaust pipework at each end?

The replacement pipes are pretty accurate dimensionally, the Emira ones are not, they seem to have a lot of variability.

Reactions: GRP
This is a little older thread, but I thought I would let others know.. My friend who did the GRP 3rd Cat delete said he is getting a warning light occasionally that there is an exhaust leak (minor).. He clears the codes and it goes away for a while and then comes back. Make sure to expand the pipe enough so it's really snug..

He said he might take it all apart again and expand it a little more to make it more snug.

Just wanted to give an update

What was the code? Are you sure it wasnt an EVAP leak code? These have been semi common on the Emira's.
A decat can't possibly cause a CEL. It is past all sensors in the exhaust stream (by quite a bit of tubing) There is no chance a o2 sensor could pick up on a exhaust leak back at the three bolt mating flange, the slip connection or the muffler. If the leak is prior to the sensors in the exhaust path sure but that would only be if someone had changed out the manifolds/heades. This is likely a case of coincidence with an evap code which has happened more than once now.

Could Def be the evap. I'll have to ask him the code.

Thanks for the info.
