A warning for those in the UK thinking of delaying until March 23

Am I the only one wondering who the hell Karen Yo is??!
I think Karen is what they say in Australia as an insult as it was the most popular name there for like 30 years...

Now the same is happening elsewhere apparently. One less mystery on the Lotus Emira forum, unfortunaetly it has little to do with Lotus and less place on the forum haha

My wife’s an Aussie… never heard it once!

Edit: just looked at the link it’s American…

No wonder I didn’t follow, we speak the queens English here, innit.

😉

Yeh, Ive heard it several times on the net.....
but you'd need to be there I think.... and it would help if your name was karen, then you would hear it even more.. haha.
I think the person saying it ends up the one looking silly more than the one its directed to.... hence the lack of a reply. And as for the Yo...Bro....Dude..... no comment

Crikey, too many Larrikins on here. I reckon I'm gonna chuck some shrimps on the barby, grab a VB coldie from the esky before spending the rest of my arvo on the tinny with my sheila. Totally buggered from too much hard yakka and dealing with Karens all day. ;)

Isn’t it 14 degrees over there? Good luck with the barby!!

I suppose you might be up north…

Vaguely back on topic lotus BS have ignored my email from last week, enquiring about delaying delivery and likely dates for demo cars. Anyone else heard anything further?

Sssshhh, lets not have facts get in the way of a good story!

I'm having a quiet giggle about those trying to use Google Translate to convert "Australian" into "English"...
:ROFLMAO:

I was just about to say "winner" but the SUV remark got me and in the end confused me. I am not sure what sold out can refer to as that would be more for the tins of soup already on the shelves, not something thats yet to be made and has a waiting list, but I get your drift of course. But is it possible the SUV's of these high end companies have sold well elsewhere and not in the US???

The SUV's have given a new financial freedom to all of the companies you mention, and ASton would probably be out of business without it, mainly due to years of underinvestment and poor decisions. Porsche started that with the Cayenne, albeit the Macan now sells far more than its larger uglier brother, but the brother came first of ALL and has done very very well for them. The Urus is a complete success, and I quote:
Urus Becomes Lamborghini's Best-selling Model in the Shortest Time Ever. Automobili Lamborghini adds a new record to its list with its Super SUV Urus, as the best-selling model in the shortest time ever. Since its market debut in 2018, 20,000 units have been produced, setting sales records year on year.

I dont know the US numbers, but I would be amazed if it isnt doing proportionally as well in the US if not better than elsewhere. To think they are selling in the sorts of numbers the Emira wants to sell, but it costs 3 or 4 times as much.
Aston has also done very well with their big car:
Aston Martin Lagonda has reported higher than expected revenues for the first four months of 2021, with sales boosted by the success of the Aston Martin DBX SUV. The British company sold 1353 cars in the first quarter of the year, including 746 DBXs – 55% of all sales.

Again, Id be sure a lot of those are US sales.
Hence, while I agree with everything else you said, I am not sure re the SUV
Actually now I re-read your post and I am confused... you say the Emira will outsell the Eletre 2:1 in the US, but then say Lotus will "sell out" the Eletre in the US and will be the first to do so? "Mark my words Lotus will be the first."
I wont say more as I am not sure, as normal, what I am talking about, but this time its partly your fault ;).
lol...you proved my point. You should go back and give my comment a trophy  . Yes the Emira will sell better than the Eletre. Yes, DBX, Ururs, Macan all sell more units than the sports cars. Lotus will be different, with the Emira selling better than Eletre. Mostly because Emira is an extension of the the previous Lotus cars which drove brilliantly.

The Eletre requires marketing to a new and different consumer. Right now, Lotus is not up to the task. The EV market is very competitive, and maybe in china it will sell better than Emira, it's home market. However, if you make a full size luxury SUV the US is the most lucrative market in the world.

Who knows, maybe I'd best check.
Be annoying if my deposit has been returned and I've spent it on beer and wine this summer ☀️ without realising 😅
I think they have been reading your wishy washy interest posts and have seen your true love for the Spyder and they have transferred it across to Porsche UK central .... we'll get rid of this problem customer before we get him on board 😏

Harsh but fair (not actually even harsh lol)

are you sure you have one on order???
😂
Well my family, friends and colleagues don't think I have one on order, mainly because of the way Lotus keep changing delivery dates. Without fail, every day I get "have you got your car yet?" "Have you really got an Emira on order" "you should have got it by now" It is getting somewhat tiresome trying to explain what's going on when I don't really know. This is obviously due to the major lack of information coming out of Lotus.
