Am I the only one who doesn’t want a Porsche…

I find it silly that anyone is expecting the Emira to match up to Porsche. Porsche are the yardstick for modern sports cars: you want a brilliant machine, buy a Porsche. Forget that they all look alike and are a weird shape… they’re brilliant automobiles.

But I’m in love with the way the Emira looks. And I trust that that dinky English company has made it the best machine they possibly can. Go Blighty!

I have never owned a Porsche. I have driven them and have mates with them. I admire the engineering and the general all round useability. I have recommended Boxters to a number of friends who wanted to buy a convertible sports car but weren’t really into cars. But for me I have never wanted to own one.
I do have three Lotus at the moment and the Emira will add one more to the fleet. Some people are Porsche people and some are Lotus. Buy whichever you want and enjoy it.

Just been into customer services news soon on test drives, if I change to I4 queue I might get pushed back towards the end of the current queue even though I'm deposited on 7th July.

I know there is a lot of emotion and discussion now reviews are out.. but one thing I know is that I don’t want a Porsche… I find them very capable but too sterile and lacking character in the main… I haven’t driven a GT4 or 911 GT product though.
I also don’t like the way all the reviewers talk about the prices and don’t mention the options you have to add to get to the spec of the Emira which make them more expensive on the road…

I don't want a Porsche, ever.

My reasons are simple. I don't want to be like every third car owner I see in the road.
Is that means I'm missing out on a great car (driven a few in anger at the Silverstone Porsche centre), then so be it.
I like to be a bit different from the crowd, and Lotus fits well.
Blinkered? Probably.
At least I'm happy being me.

Sorry rang them up. I’ve had a good lengthy chat with @NickR and we are both going forward with the V6, we have hugged each other and decided all the bad reviews are fake reviews..

But seriously a test drive would be nice, customer services told me I could do it on a track experience day lol at only £750…

See that just piss”” me off that was a serious comment and they were seriously expecting you to fork out £750 so you could get a test drive of car your buying. I was assured that was no problem before I take delivery and I’m July delivery- I feel like CS was probably just giving me a healthy dose of BS - The way this is going at some point I’ll trott myself off to BMW and just get a 21 plate M4 with some lush carbon bucket seats lol and carbon roof - Can we have a For Sale section for flipped Emiras lol I’m just joking or maybe not depending what day of week it is

I want a new mid-engine car with my own spec. Hence deposit on Emira and GT4. I am not a fan of Porsche's look besides the 944 of the 80's and the RUF 911s. However, I do like the spec on my GT4. My next car hopefully will be the Lotus/Alpine EV.

I had a new m4 with every option spec'd out and was ready to order and decided to go with the Lotus instead. Sometimes I wonder if I would be enjoying that m4 right now with those gorgeous seats...?

Yeah I had the last gen M4 Comp and was going to consider the new one until the Emira came along and stole my gaze.

I often wonder if I should stop waiting and get an M4 tomorrow...

I bought a cheap run around in the mean time but I've had it 10 months now and I'm getting bored!

Seems it will be ages until i4 reviews come out and not excited by 360bhp v 510bhp in an M4, even if it is 300 kg lighter.
