Exactly. So I figure the center piece is necessary for rigidity so it isn't flexing under even minimal load.
 
Is the center piece necessary?
Here's what it looks like without it. Not sure how much of a dif tbh.

@GRP are you aware of any engine lid Louvres in the work?

I'm aware of Jubu's, but would like to see more options.
 
I think it does need the centre piece to look good.. svj style yes I like it, probably better than whats available currently on the market.. at least it follows the roundings and the lines of the car. JUBU still needs to prove the top dollars they are charging, for me its done with JUBU… overpriced and very stucked up. Hanging on a lip or standing on a wing doesnt proof anything.. show us the windtunnel tests, track tests etc. They sell the thermostat for 199 euros, a simple 2gr-fe sports/race thermostat (exactly the same) will cost je 35usd thats 30euros. My 2 cents..
