Was out driving the Emira tonight and noticed the digital coolant reading fluctuating (bouncing around) while driving. Seemed to stay between 184 - 200 degrees. Never exceeded 200 but sure seems to bounce around a lot.

Was not hot outside, only about 60 degrees and was doing some back road spirited driving.

Watched some YouTube videos and from what I can see it seems that other Emiras bounce around too.

Assume normal and nothing to be concerned about?

Thats perfectly normal and is the same for Elise / Exige and Evora

All "standard" cars like BMWs etc. just show a "fixed" temperature after reaching normal operating condition, as a delay element has been installed (on old models) / programmed (on any digital dash). With OBD readers you can as well get the live and deviating real temperature in comparison to the driver information

Lotus has the philosophy to communicate the real reading ... In consequence. temperature goes up in stop & go, or especially when you drive off the Autobahn and do a full stop at a red light.
