📓 Journals Diaries of the first Lotus Emira picked up from Hethel - V6 FE - yellow / ice / silver / sport

This prefix is only usable in the Lotus Emira Journals forum.
Short version - I got treated like garbage by my dealer over a major mechanical issue with my Evora (supercharger failed, got told I "wasn't their problem" because I hadn't used them for servicing), after that sold the car and made a video explaining why.

That and another video (If I told you which you would be beyond confused) got me to the top of their most wanted list and they banned me from filming at any of their dealerships worldwide - a ban that remains in place today despite more than a few olive branches being offered by myself.

I remain utterly perplexed as to what their motive or logic was, I love the Lotus brand dearly but there are some people there that have issues with criticism, no matter how small.

As for Emira, I think it is a great car but I do worry Lotus have still not learned how to do proper QC, or look after customers. It's not an all new platform as claimed which should at least mean the tech underpinning it is mature and dependable!

Having been through what many on this forum are now experiencing, I really hope for Lotus' own sake they get it together soon. Fundamentally the product is amazing.

And - Lotus people are the best.
Thanks James, look forward to the video

Cheers for sharing that. Regular viewer of yours and looking forward to your Emira video. I especially enjoyed the critique of Mclaren who to be frank deserve it.

I’m going to hunt out the second video as I really think it would be beneficial to lotus to not ban someone for a viewpoint but address it….

Hi @JayEmm :)

So a further update... I'd posted earlier that after getting the car back with new ECU, the ESC warning lights were coming on from time to time. Lotus HQ and Glasgow Lotus have said they'll check it out, most likely a software issue, but the car is working fine - so no rush. It's booked in for 2 weeks time to be resolved, and have the rest of the minor snagging list looked at too.

Quick 'short' of some drone stuff to tease you a bit before @JayEmm 's proper review ;)

Nice shots, but wholly Inappropriate references to Ferrari in the soundtrack!

🤣

Imagine what it’ll be like for the Magma Red Emira owners!

come on someone from the 'colouring in department'

we need a 'Fakearrari' badge featuring a rocking horse/donkey.....

I'm considering getting 'NOT4RE' on my Emira tag.

When I had my 91 NSX I always got "is that the new vette". way back in the C6 days too.

Still practicing and learning this moving drone and moving car combo - so I'll keep churning these out till I get better lol

Awesome shots there. What drone are you using?
