šŸ““ Journals Diaries of the first Lotus Emira picked up from Hethel - V6 FE - yellow / ice / silver / sport

This prefix is only usable in the Lotus Emira Journals forum.
Shaan is a good friend of mine and I joined him for the collection, it was an unbelievable experience Scott and Matt were a pleasure. We really did have a red carpet experience up close and personal to the full prosecution line on a 1:1 factory tour, getting to handle and inspect many of the components.

The providence of Shaanā€™s emira now is that of the very first customer car collection to role out of Hethel. Personally think the other 7 delivered cars missed a massive oppertunity and more importantly the experience.

Oh and that purple thing is my Individual Twilight Purple M4 competition thatā€™s got more power and leather than any emira or lotus for that matter, however it isnā€™t going to stop me dumping it when my emira lands šŸ˜‰
Damn wish I had more direct comparisons with m4 zcp owners.

Well Friday 11th November, 2022, was a special day! I got to pickup UK customer car number 8, and the 1st ever Hethel factory collection of an Emira. Massive thanks to Scott Walker and Matt Windle, absolute pleasure meeting you both and for the handover, tour of the factory and all the chat! Kai from Lotus took a whole stack of professional pictures, and there will be a subsequent formal press release I believe, however here's a few phone snaps of the morning :)

I'll do a full write up re my experience over this weekend from start to finish, the collection, and most importantly, the car very soon! To summarise though - F'ing brilliant.

WARNING - LOTS OF PICS. SOME WITH ME LOOKING STUPIDLY OVER EXCITED :D

Best interior shot of ice grey Iā€™ve seen yet. Would love to see more when you get a chance.

Very good.....
Shaan is a good friend of mines and I joined him for the collection, it was an unbelievable experience, Scott and Matt were a pleasure, with Scottā€™s Lotus knowledge unmatched.

We really did have a red carpet experience, up close and personal to the full production line on a 1:1 factory tour was special, we got to handle and inspect many of the components and see the car from bare engine to finished article.

The providence of Shaanā€™s emira now is that of the very first customer car collected and to drive out of Hethel. Personally think the other 7 delivered cars missed a massive oppertunity and more importantly an experience.

Oh and that purple thing is my Individual Twilight Purple M4 competition thatā€™s got more power and leather than any emira or lotus for that matter, however it isnā€™t going to stop me dumping it when my emira lands šŸ˜‰
However I guess later factory collection people will not get the same red carpet treatment.... and then its a case of weighing up the drive time and extra cost, but for you guys it was certainly worth it.

I hope I am the only person to recently tell you to get that purple thing out of the photo.... its not that kind of a forum.. haha.
I dont dislike BMW's at all..... just their drivers.... I had a 6 series convertible diesel believe it or not... very comfy car, a bit too big for me, but served its purpose.

You donā€™t particularly sound like a enthusiastic person, rather pessimistic I must say. Ah you must dislike me then after only 3 posts because I drive a M4 šŸ¤£?

True there will be more groups collections in the future however it will follow suit in many ways and your own experience will only be as good as you make it for yourself, end of. The extra time/costs should be irrelevant if you are wanting/expecting an experience.

Scott/Matt are available to contact and you could try and set up a meet by all accounts, good things only come to those that make it happen for themselves.

I dont dislike you at all, why would I.... ...pessimistic, yes somewhat.....also a sarcastic soul I am afraid, dont take it personally. If you have been on the forum for a while, you would see nothing I say is meant to be offensive.... sorry if you took it that way.

I also said I had a BMW, hence the remark there was also a joke....
I have spent over 1000 pounds doing the whole Lotus experience.....I am quite hard to please, and I wont be going back for car collection no, for me it would not be too thrilling to meet the guys running Lotus if I am honest, almost the opposite in fact, I have my reasons as others do..... but I wont go into all that.

As I said, Im glad you enjoyed your day..... Hope to see a few more posts ;)

Be hoped they tucked the red carpet back up nice and neat for Harry's trip next week

I seen a nimbus grey car with the cover over it sitting behind Shaans car, I was told it was being collected on Monday by the customer

With your post and putting 2+2 together I reckon it must have been Harryā€™s car sitting there ready for collection as his is nimbus.

Haha..itā€™s all in good gest!

Good luck with the rest of your emira journey, I hope it smoothens out and you take delivery as soon as possible.

It was a brilliant day, big congratulations to Shaan again, epic car.

Congratulations! Your car looks amazing and I hope you thoroughly enjoy the whole experience. I'm looking forward to more details once you have the time.

Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

Congrats!! It is nice to see the UK guys getting some special treatment from Lotus - Enjoy your Emira!

Love the non-black-pack yellow! I think black pack will age poorly and a lot of folks will regret specā€™ing it in a few years. The roofline of this car is gorgeous!
Is it just me or does it seem like 70ā€“80% of buyers are choosing upper black pack on their Emiras? @TomE would you by chance have any data on the BP vs. non-BP split? :)

I also wonder if the customer preference varies by geographic region... For instance, the UK's McLaren has produced how many tens of thousands of 720s and 765lt cars over the years, and not a single one has a body-coloured painted roof (except if the car is black). Why? Can someone explain to me what's wrong with having a body-coloured roof on your sports car?
