📓 Journals Diaries of the first Lotus Emira picked up from Hethel - V6 FE - yellow / ice / silver / sport

This prefix is only usable in the Lotus Emira Journals forum.
Is it just me or does it seem like 70–80% of buyers are choosing upper black pack on their Emiras? @TomE would you by chance have any data on the BP vs. non-BP split? :)

I also wonder if the customer preference varies by geographic region... For instance, the UK's McLaren has produced how many tens of thousands of 720s and 765lt cars over the years, and not seen a single one has a body-coloured painted roof (except if the car is black). Why? Can someone explain to me what's wrong with having a body-coloured roof on your sports car?
Totally agree and after seeing every single colour on an actual emira yesterday with both upper black pack and no upper black pack. The car 100% looks better without the upper black pack in my opinon too.

To be fair there were only 765 765LTs produced. 😉

I think the black pack is popular because it visually lowers the car and makes it look sleeker. Maybe not the correct word.. Maybe more aggressive? I don't know. I just like the black pack with black or diamond cut wheels. Silver wheels and I'd go full paint on mine.

That colour combo looks amazing. Look forward to your write up

Well Friday 11th November, 2022, was a special day! I got to pickup UK customer car number 8, and the 1st ever Hethel factory collection of an Emira. Massive thanks to Scott Walker and Matt Windle, absolute pleasure meeting you both and for the handover, tour of the factory and all the chat! Kai from Lotus took a whole stack of professional pictures, and there will be a subsequent formal press release I believe, however here's a few phone snaps of the morning :)

I'll do a full write up re my experience over this weekend from start to finish, the collection, and most importantly, the car very soon! To summarise though - F'ing brilliant.

WARNING - LOTS OF PICS. SOME WITH ME LOOKING STUPIDLY OVER EXCITED :D

Haha, I didn't actually know that the 765LT was limited to 765 units. 😂🤦‍♂️ Ok fine then, include all roadster variants of each model, and I'm sure the total number is somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 total vehicles. :p

Anyways, I totally understand that some customers would naturally have a preference for one over the other, I'm just surprised that SO MANY people seem to prefer the car with upper black pack!

Love the non-black-pack yellow! I think black pack will age poorly and a lot of folks will regret spec’ing it in a few years. The roofline of this car is gorgeous!
Maybe… but I still love a black pack 458 😍

Just a beautiful combination of colors on this spec. I am really starting to see the interior design on this car. Lotus, IMO, nailed the interior. If past cars were to "focused" with a minimal interior, this Emira has a modern elegant "focused" interior. That Ice Grey and Hethel Yellow just look like a smooth glass of scotch.

Congratulations and I looooove the purple BMW.

Do you think this is anything to do with the wheel choice,Tom?

Might just be me,but I've seen a few with the plain silver wheels delivered now.
I've opted for the black alloys and wondered if that was low in stock etc and reason for a pushback?
There was a time when plain silver wheels were said to be the cause of delays 😅

It's good that the black pack is offered, having it with or without really adds to the ability to change the look of the car when you pair it with different wheel and interior options, something for everyone

Just as a side note the customer car I looked at yesterday didn't have the logo in the sill carpet

Apparently It brings the eye down making the car look lower and sportier.

Oh... that's kind of disappointing.
Why? It isn’t stated as a feature anywhere on spec, you’d be able to get a stencil and do it yourself also when doing the detail of the car. A good trimming company could potentially add a permenent embossed the logo too.

Absolutely magnificent! Same spec as me - all yellow, ice grey interior. Gorgeous! Love the enthusiasm in the photos. Thanks for posting and congrats!
