Sometimes I will go for 4th to 3rd.. or 3rd to 2nd, and get the car into the desired gear, and it doesn't recognize it.
It like doesn't "catch" and I am in neutral... even though the shifter is in the correct place.

Anyone know what this could be?

The indicated gear is derived and doesn't have sensors detecting which gear you're in. It won't always be accurate nor update in a timely manner.

I dont mean the screen / di splay of what gear I am in.. I just mean I will have the shifter IN the 3rd gear slot and it will act like its in netural.

Got it, I suspect this only happens in 3rd or 4th gear and not 1st, 2nd, 4th or 6th?

If so you need a gearchange cable adjustment -- visit your dealership for them to adjust it for you.

It sometimes happens when I am going from 4th to 3rd, and 3rd to 2nd.

From 5th to 4th -- I do not know. I dont think I have ever driven in 5th. :sneaky:
