Emira Custom Plates

Personally, I’ve never understood why people get the name of a car on the license plate. Isn’t the name already on the car?
For me it’s about the rarity of the plate vs the car it’s on. BUT then it’s about the rarity of the vehicle in this case.

Ultimately it’s just about having 1 of 50 of ~500 in this case.

I believe in this case badging on rear is only Lotus. What shows in photos (Emira) is only a display plaque in place of a registration plate. Otherwise, I agree with your point.

Not if you de-badge it or, as with the Emira, it doesn't have a model badge on the back :)

For me plates are a bit of fun, some are just to make the car ageless, some have my name or a reference to the car.

Many years ago my soon-to-be wife hadn't thought through her impending change of surname until I bought her a new car with the registration xx APE. From that point on our wedding plans were code-named "Project Monkey".

When I built my first Shelby Cobra replica years ago, the custom plate was ERSATZ. Very few people got it. So be creative with a custom plate!

I picked this up a few weeks back, on basis there’s no badge on back and it’s a bit of fun. Car people will get it I think. Though does require delivery before 1st Sept!

If you’re not worried about people thinking the car is fractionally older than it is, I’d keep it anyway, before or after September. Real car people would think you were one of the early special customers !!
They might even think you were a priority FaceTube influencer……

Yeah I kind of like the fact it will be from 'launch year' regardless.

Well, errr, mine is EM12 AAM... so if you suspend your disbelief and accept that the "2" is sort of an "R" it's kind of EMIRA AM...
Mine is EM12 AEM
My initials AEM so that sort of works as well :)

I’ve got these for sale at £2950 each if anyone is interested. EM11RA F and EM11RA P

I've already got a couple of Lotus and Emira related plates for mine. Would be interested to hear how you get on via private message in the context of pricing my unused ones. Those prices feel a bit optimistic to me but good luck with the sale 👍

Im not going for a personal plate myself but I've seen EM22RRR for £314 on Swiftreg if anyone is interested.

The plate also keeps you inline with 2022.

A couple of weeks ago someone in the UK won the bidding on V610 TUS (V6 10TUS). I wonder if it’s going on an Emira or a current Evora or Exige?
Any idea what that went for?
After I bought FA57 LTS (FAST LOTUS!) I thought I'd take a look for FA57 BMW (for my M2C), that was over £9k ! Considerably more than what I paid! Will be interesting to see what the market dictates for plates with there being so much interest in the Emira.
