I'm super curious who this plan is with. Not even collector insurance is down near $1000 a year.Checked again and price has slowly crept up since I first checked a year ago. It is now $84/mo and just for reference, my Z06 is only $65/mo
USAA but lots of factors .... have been with them forever, no claims, many vehicles, location, etcI'm super curious who this plan is with. Not even collector insurance is down near $1000 a year.
I'm 43. No accidents, no tickets. Live in a suburb of Kansas City and my Hagerty quote is 2.5X that. I truly don't understand the variances in quotes.Just got a new quote from Hagerty.
$1054/year for $100k agreed value
I think it has actually more to do with location than other factors. Per bankrate.com, average full coverage in Kansas is $2,630/year vs. $1,702/yr in North Carolina where I live. My Hagerty quote was $1450/yr ($95K agreed value) and I'm 38 w/ a clean record in the past 3 years (which is all Hagerty considers according to my agent).I'm 43. No accidents, no tickets. Is your quote from Hagerty? Keep in mind that Hagerty is "collector car" insurance, and they have limitations on the purposes of driving your car, so it's usually much cheaper than typical car insurance due to those limitations.I'm 43. Not to be snarky, but he literally said "my Hagerty quote"Is your quote from Hagerty? Keep in mind that Hagerty is "collector car" insurance, and they have limitations on the purposes of driving your car, so it's usually much cheaper than typical car insurance due to those limitations.
Lol, my bad. Anyway, I have a car insured by Hagerty and my understanding is that the limitations aren't just mileage. You're technically not supposed to drive the car for any reason other than to take it for a drive (and back) or to go to car shows. Things like grocery shopping, commuting to work, or simply going to a friend's house are essentially prohibited. Not to be snarky, but he literally said "my Hagerty quote"I should also mention that my Hagerty quote was a 3K mile/year limit and I was told the max they will do is 5K/year. You can bump it up if you are going to exceed the initial limit.
how could this possibly ever be enforced?Lol, my bad. Anyway, I have a car insured by Hagerty and my understanding is that the limitations aren't just mileage. Yeah, I was talking Hagerty. The funny thing to me is just normal insurance with the same coverage levels is a cheaper option for me, which just seems wildly backwards. Is your quote from Hagerty? EDIT: am dumb
To be fair, I don't think they even verify mileage (maybe unless they can reference annual registrations). I'd say if you happen to be in an accident in your office parking lot, it might look fishy to them. I could be wrong, though. Give Hagerty a call. They are really easy to work with.how could this possibly ever be enforced?
i was considering Hagerty too. i have another car but I also want to use my Lotus for anything I want
Sorry to hear this. Cali ins is definitely exorbitantly expensive. I pay $550/month for my Gallardo, 911 and Z06 with SF but numbers are skewed due to multiple car discounts (10 ) and my Home Owners.Moderator note: copied from another thread to split this topic out into a new thread
Well it's been fun. One problem with making people wait is that old "buyer's remorse" kicks in and we come to our senses..I priced out insurance here in Calif. and good coverage would run me $4k per year. That combined with sparse parts/service and only a 2 year warranty helped make my decision easier. Good luck to all you who manage to wait it out, I'm sure you will enjoy the car. I'm just not gunna be one of you. Cheers I'm out.
Wow! What state?54-yrs old. Never had an accident at my fault. No speeding ticket in last 20-years, and Hagarty quoted me $3450/yr. Absolute joke.
Not true. Limitation is if you are committing to work every day with the car. If you don’t have another car as a daily driver you have a problemLol, my bad. Yep.No

Haggerty makes the assumption that the car is recreational purposes , does not mean you can’t go to grocery store or visit friends.
Not a daily driver.
I can still take car to work occasionally as long as it’s not every day
Just adding this as well.Y
Yep.
Georgia. And I have five other cars so was okay with 4,000 mile restrictionWow! What state?
