End of the Emira V6 order is now confirmed to be Feb 2025

Now for the predictions.... I still think there will be a Final Edition V6 manual - limited run car under 500 units worldwide sort of thing, special colours and MAYBE SMALL HP Bump.
I'd be ok if that small HP bump came from updated software that added another 500 RPM to the redline. Then we could just copy that same code to our ECU. One can dream, right?

I think this is the video to which I referred

I think is the video that discusses the various things/original plans with the Emira. Without completely watching the video again, there is a section where they discuss the V6 only being offered in the initial builds and being replaced with the I4. They initially begin discussing the Emira around the 22-minute mark.

This was always the plan V6 limited, I4 ongoing. Made sense for ROW and thus for everyone. Platform has more potential, could attract broader audience etc.

Lotus also planned to go all electric and is back tracking big time on that. This includes the Type 135 and thus the future of the Emira is not yet as firm as we thought it was. Toyota has been "canceling the V6" for years. Lotus order/delivery windows are reliably unreliable. So now, nobody knows really what's next.

Sad to see the manual go away, but it makes our V6 even more special.
I'm assuming there are going to be no manual I4s.
The only turbo car I have ever owned was a MiniCooper Clubman S. It had a bit of lag.
How does the AMG turbo handle the lag?
I had a Honda S2000 and was always told it was a great car. i just did not agree. Had to wring that engine out to get any performance (VTEC kick in, yow)
I'm sure the AMG I4 has worked the power curve to perfection. All the reviews I have seen give the AMG engine high marks.
Simplifies things for Lotus going forward. Only one engine to tool and support.

This info is for US, isn’t it? My dealer here in Germany was in Hethel 3 months ago and told me, v6 orders for Europe will be open in 2025 with delivery in 2026 again. I was about to buy a used v6 from him. Don’t think he would have told me (staying next to the used v6) if this isn’t true.

Yes, February 15th cut off is for the US. We can’t have all the V6’s and need to share with the rest of the world. With the last engine shipment from Toyota being Q2/Q3, Lotus will build your Emira before year end. Glad you can order exactly what you want!

Thank you very much, this is good information and is getting my hopes up!!

Do you have any more info when the order books will open again in 2025? I am planning to get one in switzerland if base price isnt higher than the original FE.

Well I asked the same in a different thread and OP said its not only for the Us but for the whole world, as toyota is closing production of the V6.

So many confusing rumors without anyone knowing facts… well its the internet I guess. Only time will tell whos right and whos wrong.

I don't have details for countries outside of the US. Stay in communication with your dealer so that he can use one of his allocation spots for your build after he receives it from Lotus.

I don't know about the cutoff date for other countries. I recommend that you check with your dealer if you're not already on their list for a V6 Emira.

I already spoke to my dealer and he still hasnt any base price informations but he said 2025 V6 Emiras should arrive in autumn. My question was directed at @hentzG

I'll buy you a pint if Lotus is still buying 2GR-FE engines from Toyota a year from now. I wasn't going to FAFO, my deposit is in, and my dealer received my allocation the latter part of January.

I think it's a safe bet that either 2025 or 2026 will be the final year of V6 Emira production. Lotus has always said it will eventually be phased out.

I'm just questioning this rumour that the last engine shipment from Toyota will be Q2/Q3. Says who exactly?

Unfortunately not. But I can share if I find out. For me this is very relevant. I do not want to buy a used V6 because of the problems of early cars. I hate the transmission in the i4. So either they offer the v6 again or fix the slow DCT (maybe with SE). Otherwise Porsche..

I`m calling the Emira the future Dino246. Similar dimensions, V6 manual. bagged for being under powered, and many other historic similarities. Todays exotics are quite large cars.

The 206 and 246 were my favorite my whole life and do feel the Emira is as close in design as I can come..
I could not afford them in early days and surely could not afford one today..
But the Emira will outshine it in every way on the road today..

I had a Dino 246 Gt for 17 years and only recently let it go. I was a beautiful car to look at. Not the best drivers car, or trouble free by any sense. But I loved it. It made way for my new emira which sits next to my 410 Exige. The change bough my daughter an apartment. So it did it`s job and was time to say good by.

Glad you were able to have owned a very special car for 17 years and it allowed you in the end
to have funds to help daughter and yourself with Emira...
I guess during the ownership did it cost good amount to maintain such a vehicle for it
to be worth something at the end...
I hand built my own car that looked similar 246 with 455 Oldsmobile Toro Package in rear with 84 Corvette Suspension.
I owned this car in various stages for 33 years,,Thank You for you 246 story..
