It…. Took…. For…. Ever…. To get my plates from MD. 2 days before my temp expired to be exact. But here are some additional photos of the GRP mount. I’m very pleased.

Thank you for the pics!

For those who have bought these cars in CA, do the dealers let you take the car without the front license plate drilled in? That would be requirement for me.

Wasn't a problem at Lotus of Orange County. Mentioned to my salesperson. The OEM plate holder was in the trunk. Used Greg's no drill holder. Five minute install. Easy peasy...

My Lotus dealer (Aston Martin) said they never drill holes by default unless specifically requested, which is the same for Porsche and Audi dealers I've come across. There's a waiver you sign releasing dealer liability where you acknowledge it was not installed at delivery.

I wish Sto N Sho had it for Emira, I like removable plate to put it on when parked since there had been places where Parking Maids ticket cars in parking garages/street for missing a front plate in CA 🙄

This is what I'll be putting on.
Of all the cars my dealer has delivered, not one has the factory mount. They have all been delivered with this mount.

This is the one! Too bad my dealer didn't include one so I had to buy mine! It is great to see dealers including them though!

The advantages of this mount are that it's easy to install with no drilling AND the front plate is easily removable in seconds (literally) without any part of the mount visible when removed, unless you look closely. I would say it is as close to a perfect solution as you can get, except a bit pricey.

I did use the original bolts from the car instead of the longer ones that came with the mount. The ones that came seems to be too long.

I’ve searched but (surprisingly) can’t find a thread for this. Has anybody seen a USA spec front license plate mount on the Emira? Do they drill into the bumper or not? I’m wondering if a tow eye plate mount would be a decent alternative (see below). Looks like it would probably block one of the forward parking sensors. It would look pretty terrible but could be easily removed and shouldn’t damage the car. If I missed a previous thread please point me there.
GRP makes a USA license plate mount that attaches under the front spoiler so that you dont have to drill holes in the bodywork.
