๐Ÿ““ Journals Got my Emira - questions anybody?

This prefix is only usable in the Lotus Emira Journals forum.
I know many of you are eagerly waiting for news and maybe I can give a little bit back to this community of likeminded enthusiasts after all the months it has kept the waiting somewhat entertaining. ๐Ÿ˜…

While I have already posted some impressions on my introduction thread, maybe I can provide pictures or infos about the car that many of you have been waiting for.

Stuff I didn't hear about before spending the first day with the car:

* There are driver profiles in the entertainment system and you can lock them with a PIN code. They seem to remember car settings like mirror positions, infotainment screen setup and so on.

* The scorpion tracker seems to have a proximity alarm when the car is locked (at least something beeped when I leaned close to the locked car).

* The cupholders have ambient light in them. ๐Ÿง

* The engine / supercharger is more noticeable on the "RHD" driver seat (my passenger seat). One might say the car sounds better on the right side ๐Ÿ˜…

* The boot lid makes a squeaking noise when opening(?!) from some plastic flexing inside the engine bay.

* You can mute the audio by swiping down on the steering wheel audio controls and unmute by swiping up.

* Lotus has no official run-in period / after sales service anymore. First service in one year or 16000km.

* The sport suspension is 1cm lower than the tour setup, even though Lotus stated the drive height is the same. It definitely is not!

If you want to know any more details - let me know ๐Ÿ™‚
Apologize if this has already been asked but what are the parking sensors like? Will they offer any guidance to avoid scraping the front bumper on a parking lot curb when pulling in forward or help avoid scratching a rim on a parallel park? Thanks!

When I drove it they were having problems and going off/beeping while in traffic, pulling up to a red light near other cars. The rep said he would pass the info along.

Happily adding to the topic. Some may call me out for it but I was feeling a bit brave and took the Emira to a carwash for the first time.

The Evora did never see any of these places from the inside (handwash only), but as I am trying to daily the Emira as much as I can: Here comes an ownership experience video of me washing the car for the first time in one of these automatic car washes this morning. (it has been washed by the dealer on my visits before). ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‡

(I'll try to provide some more entertaining content ๐Ÿ˜ฌ)

Oh my goodness I canโ€™t watch this. I have ocd about swirl marks and just want to cry thinking about how many were just added!

But hats off for staying true to your word by making the Emira a daily driver (car wash and all!)

@digilotus I agree and I have to say that I somewhat started regretting right after I left the place. It didn't even get properly clean ๐Ÿซฃ.

I've been washing my "daily" cars at that carwash for years and tbh never had issues, it's a very high-end place. Not one of those on the back of a gas station. I also don't have that terrible bad OCD when it comes to putting some signs of usage on my cars.

I might not do it again anyhow.

Can't really slap-clean a car like Emira with all of its sculpting and porosity. These water torture devices are meant for sad things like Nissan Rogues and Chevy Malibus.

And to add insult to injury...many people hand dry their cars after these water torture devices. Just grinds the dirt that's left into the paint. I see this all the time ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

At least I provided some content that triggers to show who really has some passion left for the Emira. ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜…

And I have proven that mine isn't meant to be a garage queen.

Some bonus content: Startup in sport mode.

After pressing the start button for a few seconds without pressing the clutch you can then switch the drive mode prior to startup.

Before somebody asks: The driver window usually doesn't squeak when lowering. I blame it on the extra clean glass after said carwash and the ice cold temperature outside.

This is sooooo good. Bravo ๐Ÿ‘

Some folk will be twitching uncontrollably reading and watching this ๐Ÿ˜‚

I've found that applying some spray sealant to windows helps with this! I'll use something like Carpro Reload or Beadmaker spray to make everything silky smooth and hydrophobic. I use it on my windshield and directly on the rubber wiper blade inserts too.

So much nicer. How about starting in Track? Any difference beyond Sport?

Track is louder but I donโ€™t think you can start in it. There may be another way to fool the ignition than the long hold. An Easter Egg waiting to be found!

I will try tomorrow. Do you think Track is louder? I haven't noticed much difference other than the higher rev in idle (same as on the Evora).

Haven't used Track much though. Weather conditions seem a bit suboptimal for it.

Oh and on another positive note:

I remember we have seen at least one dyno run of an Emira here (right?) and also some power figures on the german car magazine I uploaded a while ago. If I remember it was showing around 411PS. Is PS the same as bhp? I never paid much attention to these figures and I also don't know much about dynos.

BUT I remember that JayEmm (the Youtuber) once dyno'ed his Evora 400 which came out at something below actual 400hp.

Did anyone ever speculate about Lotus pulling a McLaren on all of us and actually stating a (slightly?) lower power figure than the car has? I know that measured and reported acceleration times speak against that theory. But I started wondering if the Emira actually doesn't feel (much) slower than my GT430...
Having said that, I was always suspicious how much power my Evora really has. Was thinking of taking it to a local dyno but the guys can only measure up to 300ish hp. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Maybe my Evora is slow (some had not so excellent power figures on their Evoras as far as I know) or its all bs. Maybe I should do a comparison on the Autobahn and upload videos tomorrow... ๐Ÿค”

In any case and to stay on topic: I like my Emira because it DOESN'T feel slow at all to me, even though the consesus in the press said otherwise.

PS is higher than bhp.
But at 411ps still looking around 405bhp which is what 10 higher than quoted?

Track sounded louder to me on my test drives and the graphic display suggests exhaust has 3 different levels in Tour, Sport and Track. Plus the higher idle and the valve opens at a lower rev point.

Ironically exactly what you don't want on a track
