Had the Emira 3 months it’s been in for repairs most of that time

It should include a customer complaints box too. With already paid FedEx label to Matt W.

Ok it's in the front under-bonnet area though. That's great, hopefully some owners can do their own checking and see if there is water intrusion on their own cars, without waiting for a major failure.
It’s hard to get to the affected parts as they are under the front (fixed) body panel, not under the removable front access hatch.

Your message sounds really scary!!!
I originally thought that the Emira sports car, being built on a new platform, would have better quality. However, based on your description, it seems to have even more issues than the previous Exige and Evora models.

Now, I'm considering returning it and buying a manual transmission Supra! I'm really worried that my car will also encounter these problems. If it were just a simple issue like the windows not working, which could be resolved by restarting the car, I could accept it. But the number of problems you listed is really concerning! And as for the headlights fogging up, that's an issue that even cheap Chinese brands wouldn't have had decades ago!

Im not in that group, mine has been spot on from day one, although all my issues are all cosmetic, mechanically it has been good.

One thing I would say and this is my experience only is that during running in I kept to the 4K limit, but drove it like I stole it through all gears and conditions really hard through that range with premium fuel, to me the engine needs to be used. Ive not had any lights since taking this approach.
Lucky you .

Is there any correllation with vehicles parked outside vs inside?

Thats my thinking too but obviously the chance of water ingress is higher for those that are exposed to rain. My concern is what happens when winter hits and we have freezing temperatures, rain, snow...

I could park mine up for winter with a cover and trickle charger but it would still be outside.

WBAC is a joke as far as prices go for things out of the ordinary (Lotus). I'm about to sell my Elise in preparation for getting the Emira and WBAC offered me 60% of the cheapest car on Autotrader.
I'm in your boat. But unlike you, I have an Elise and figured I would get the Emira first, then decide later which one I want to sell.

The danger I face is that I decide to keep both.

Would you say the affected part is sealed in a box and water tight. Trying to work out if it’s indeed water related. Does seem like it once I’ve jet washed the car.

But dealer says the lumpy cold start is software related. Anyway, mines in for a full week for full make over. I will update later.

Step back from the ledge, there's absolutely no reason to believe that your vehicle will be affected by any of the listed issues.

It sounds like at least some of the problem comes from high pressure washing.
I remember with my Ferrari I was always told never to do that.

And I won’t be doing that with the Emira either.

I bet the Ferrari wouldn’t break down after a pressure wash. Not recommending it due to paint work or whatever I’m fine with that. If you’re telling me it’s "normal" a car like the Emira can’t handle the water well…

Actually that’s exactly why I was told not to high pressure wash the Ferrari.
It had nothing to do with paint, and everything to do with the electrics etc.

Say what you like as to whether that’s a reasonable situation with a new expensive car in 2023, but I won’t be high pressure washing the Emira.

The pressure washer concerns should be put into context. Is a 40 degree nozzle at 2-3ft really an issue? If that's the case then the Emira paint is more like a painting from my 10y old.

How in the world would you drive the thing in the rain if it was that sensitive to water? The volume of water in a heavy rainstorm is way higher than what my sprayer nozzle puts out.

We get rainstorms occasionally here that are so heavy that a fast set of wipers won't keep up, and people end up pulling over under freeway overpasses because they can't see. That's the amount of water that any passenger vehicle certified for use on a public road should be able to handle.

Maybe it's velocity not volume?
