Had the Emira 3 months it’s been in for repairs most of that time

Maybe it's velocity not volume?
Yes, high pressure from a fixed size orifice means high velocity. Typically, you should never hose the engine bay, but a standard garden hose, even with an adjustable nozzle, should never cause problems when sprayed at an angle at the exterior of a vehicle.

The wiring junction box that's supposedly being affected is not directly exposed to the outside of the vehicle, it's underneath the bodywork.

I guess my thinking was that high velocity can breach the seal but volume of water from a big thunderstorm cannot breach the seal. And if high velocity breaches it can leak and make it anywhere under the bodywork. Your comment concerned me because my car will be stored with a car cover outside and of course I want to make sure I am being vigilant in protecting the car.

Are you lot really stupid! firstly do any of you actually have a car? probably not! and secondly why on earth would you take a pressure washer and blast the crap out of it. Im now 4 months in and have had no issues and I'm in the UK where it rains. I give up?

People are having issues though and a lot seems tied to water egress. I can admit I can be over careful. With other brands I have had that were "fickle" I followed every little tip that forum members seemingly figured out to avoid issues. For example not letting the fueling pump completely fill up until it clicks.

And we need to clarify pressure washer. I don't imagine anyone using more than about 1200 PSI to spray the car. A pressure wash used to clean your driveway can be over 2000 PSI. I think it's more of a pressure washer designed for cars or at least being able to adjust it down to a safe level but that still may not be recommended.

Your post and others with no problems are really making me feel better. I believe that some cars may have a little better seals/fitment so if Lotus can address this with quality control maybe we can see these reports go way down.
