Oh, for me no doubt, V6 manual. Sound and engagement can't be replaced. I'd get an auto for a daily driver, but I like my week end cars manual.

I’d be happy with knowing what number in line I am at this point. I put deposit down Aug 31 but cannot get a number from Oakville.

Hello fellow Canadian Lotus enthusiasts
It has been difficult to get "real" information specific to the Canadian market. The UK and US seem to be much farther ahead with regards to pricing and details. I did just have a brief conversation with Gentry Lane in Toronto and they told me the V6 First Edition manual will be priced at $125,000 - but no details on exactly what specification that would have or what options are available and what they might cost. They didn't seem to know about when orders would need to be finalized or even whether all deposit holders would be able to get the First Edition. Not much of an update but considering how little info their seems to be on Canadian orders I thought I would share what I was told.
Hopefully there will be much more info coming
I was really hoping that it wouldn't go over CDN $120,000.00. There will be the new luxury tax on cars over 100 grand the first of the year, plus delivery, plus HST puts it pretty close to 150 grand.... think that would put me out....

Gentlemen, nice to meet you all, I also just heard from John at Gentry Lane in Toronto and was told it'll be unofficially in the $125k ballpark... so let's see where we end up, after taxes, luxury tax, freight/pdi etc we're crossing $150k easy so might have to pass, #40 with my deposit at Gentry :)

I agree and most likely in the same boat. I thought all in (including luxury tax, HST, freight, etc) we were going to end up around $120k. If we are up to $150k, I too will be out. I’ll probably end up going for a Porsche instead or wait to build my own Emira in a year or two for less money (since I don’t need all their options).

But pricing it at $150k in Canada is kinda ludicrous. They will lose a lot of early deposits and potential clients. I guess they are not worried since they will have enough in England, etc.

In Australia we have pricing for the FE V6 at an eye watering $190,000 with extra options $200,000 drive away…. No Joke

This is crazy considering I can get a used Lamborghini for 200000 which is much more than a v6. Not sure they will sell many at over a 150000.00

My guess is that the dealer took the price announced in the UK and converted it to CAD, that gives roughly 125k.

But I'd be very very surprised if that dealer is right. All euro manufacturers price their cars cheaper in Canada than in USA.

Just have a look at Mercedes, VW, Audi, Porsche, BMW web sites

I hope your right. I really want to get the emira and even converting the us price it’s only 118000 us. So fingers crossed for a good announcement

Like the title say, hi from Canada or Bonjour from Quebec ! I am the proud owner of an Exige S300 that I bought in August 2007 from Scotti brand new. The car have 15 900KM and is irreplaceable so I sold my two others sports cars this summer and I am also on the list for an Emira V6 FE into the first top 10 at my dealer to have an allocation.

Lotus of Vancouver told me last week that they were expecting the Canadian price list this week onto their facebook page.

Me too my salesman and friend told me the rumor that the price could be 125K cad but nothing official yet of course and it was like an ice bucket challenge to hear that.

When I look at the V6 FE UK price at 75 995 gbp and the Evora GT410 sport base price at 88 675 gbp I see a 14,5% gap between both.

When I look at the V6 FE USA price at 93 900 usd and the Evora GT base price at 96 950$ I see a skinny 3% gap between both.

The destination charge is not yet included into that price and should be +2.2K usd.

Even if I take into consideration that the current currency exchange rate between the gpb and usd is 6-7% worse then 2019 ( But only 2%-3% difference with 2018 ) the USA MSRP should never had been higher then 90K + destination charge. Lotus have been a bit greedy on this one by excess of confidence.

Now the other problem is that Lotus has never treated the Canada as an independant market with his own reality. The Lotus dealer have to purchase their car from Lotus USA in US dollars and the currency exchange rate of the moment is then refilled to dealer / customer.(+26%-30% ) ouch.. The average income in Canada is not 25%-30% higher then the average income in USA and the cost of life is not cheaper if not higher.

That is why the Evora GT USA base price of 97K is 125-129K here in Canada.

We tought at first that the venue of the Geely Group was going to gives them more ressource combined with the volume sale targeted for the Emira would change the situation for us but it doesnt look that good as of right now.

Myself I was expecting a cost of 113-115K plus taxs = 130K - 132.5K maximum but like you said we could reach 145K-147K instead.

It is really really frustrating because in USA the car is priced 6-7K higher then a base Cayman GTS 4.0 and 7.3K under a base Cayman GT4.
Here in Canada, I have built a Cayman GTS 4.0 95K, with the most expensive green color paint 3K, premium package 4K, carbon fiber bucket seat 6.7K, destination charge 1.5K for a total of 110 900$ + taxs = 127 500$. A base Cayman GT4 would also be 9K + taxs cheaper than 125K.

Usually car's price in Canada are 15-16% more expensive then USA but if I look at Jaguar a british brand it is a bit higher then that but still...

2022 F-Type USA base price 70K = 85.5K CAD base price.

If Lotus could price the Emira FE that way it gives :

93 900$ USD = 114 700$ CAD Exactly or very close to the price I was expecting because the destination charge is not yet included at that price.

125K would also represent / means another +7K on top of the current USD to CAD exchange rate.
(93 900$ USD = 118 200$ CAD )

The more I am thinking about it the more it is getting ridiculous and frustrating for us.

Please guys do like myself and send message to Lotus USA to let them know your point of view.

At 125K the Emira is even 10K more expensive then a base 911 and the head of Lotus Marketing said the Emira was going to compete with C8, F-Type, Z4 and Cayman in North America.

The Evora already tried to play into the 911 territory without succes and at 125K we are much closer to a 911 price and far from the others cars the Emira is supposed to compete with.

Let’s hope Lotus staff are going to do their homework well.

The GT4 is a nice comparison price wise, but I already own one, so it's not really an option for me haha

Keep the GT4 and get the Emira.
One of the best combo a man could dream.

The GT4 is the hardcore spicier version and the Emira is not there yet. No rear wing, no front splitter, no carbon fiber, no race seat for the Emira. The GT4 is a little step over the Emira version that we will get first. The Emira FE V6 well equipped should not be priced higher then a well equipped Cayman GTS 4.0 .

I think the Emira will have it's own charm over the GT4.

  • While the GT4 is a very beautyful car, I think the emira will have the edge.
  • Emira has hydrolic steering, even though the GT4 steering is great, I think there is always something special about hydrolic steering.
  • Emira has exposed engine which gives a sporty feel and sens of occasion. That also allows to see it from the rear view mirror :)
  • The shift feel in a lotus is something special, feels way more mechanical that the GT4
  • The supercharged engive must have much more low end torque than the GT4's, which allows better enjoyment on the roads. GT4 needs to be constantly above 5000rpm, that paired with the long gearing of the transmission takes you to "lose your driving liscence" speeds very quickly.
To me the biggest shortcoming of the Emira is the fact they don't offer proper bucket seats like the GT4, that's one of the features I love most about my GT4.

Emira will be a special road car, GT4 is a special track car. Emira should be bench tested against a 4.0 GTS, performance figures are very similar, but as a road car the charger in the Emira will give the car a push where you'd have to really drive the 4.0 GTS. As a road car you don't want to really drive the car hard all the time, hence Emira wins, IF the steering is special, this is the unknown. A GT will no doubt be produced and put up against the GT4, but where the 4.0 in the GTS has room, the v6 not so much. May not be an issue if Porsche continue to slowly up the power of the GT4 over the next iteration or 2. Here in the UK EV sports cars will take over the performance specs of these 2 vehicles in the next 5-8 years in any case.

Let's hope we get some Official canadian pricing today or soon lol, I was hoping our pricing would come out a week after US pricing was released around 1PM EST last week... holding my breath haha
