Emira on order
Hi all, just joined forum.

I decided I wanted one last petrol 2 seater sports car. Thankfully my exact spec was available as one of the Lotus UK Website pre-configured cars, so I have ordered it yesterday. Delivery is anticipated as 3rd week of August (this year :) ). Also managed to snag a 0% interest deal which in the current UK climate is amazing.

Am furiously reading all the threads both good and bad.

Just wanted to say hi.

No photos yet. Mine is Dark Verdant, Diamond Cut Wheels, Yellow Callipers, Alcantara with Yellow Stitching, Black Alcantara Steering Wheel, Manual Gearbox and Touring Chassis.

Still trying to decide if I will PPF, definitely will ceramic coat.

I also was told some people, are using “car door guards” on the tough plastic on the seats so that the side of the plastic does not rub the Alcantara or leather seat? I can’t however find a thread explaining it? Anyone advise?

Best wishes and photos soon, Neil

Are we really letting people into the forum who only have to wait a month for their car...?! Doesn't feel right... ;)

Completely agree that a 0% finance deal makes this whole experience pretty hard to turn down. Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the forum Jenz, lots of friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people here. You will love driving the car after you pick it up.

And the current 0% finance deal in the UK is indeed an amazing deal for anyone considering getting one, given the current baseline interest rates.

Welcome to the forum Jenz.

PPF is way better than ceramic because it reduces the chance of getting chips massively. Also once you add ceramic coating you will have issues going to PPF and most companies will not provide a warranty in that case.

Before PDI.

Welcome to the forum and as has been said, make sure everything works and is satisfactory before accepting the car.
Good advice. Make sure you have a time slot with an agreement for them to show you all of the functions as it takes a long time to spot properly.

I had both ceramic and front /mirrors and side skirts covered in PPF. Best thing iv`e done. One year later, the paint work gleams like it`s just been delivered to me new. The ceramic makes washing and drying it a dream. I always thought ceramic was bs.. I was proven wrong.

Thanks I have a one and a half hour slot (y) and a list of things to check.

Here's a helpful Forum thread for picking up your Emira, in case you've not already seen it:

When I picked up mine, I brought along the thin rubber channel for the seat edges and installed it on both seats (max 5 minute job). Despite going on +++ tight and jammed in by the seat, it's surprisingly partially peeled off a few times since, so I'm debating glueing it. I also took along Bancho's key fob cases and put both key fobs in them, so they'd remain "pristine" and not get scratched, right from the get-go. Here's info on those key fobs (the ones sold by Bancho, and others), if interested:

Finally, if you're interested in accessories or making modifications to your Emira, there's a lot of useful info on this Forum. One thread to get you started:

Nice spec; good luck; I know you'll have FUN with your new toy; and (from someone who waited almost 2 years for his Emira...lucky you!!), congrats!

Here she is. Very happy.

Received excellent service and support from Lotus Silverstone (Aimee).

No issues so far, all software updates done, and get this…. Full Handbook in the glove box :ROFLMAO:
Excellent - looks awesome (like they all do!).

Mine's imminent... (apparently).
