I also don't know what you would expect to get as a read out. Maybe the ECU could store a "highest rev seen" sort of thing. But, break-in period actually wants you to rev the engine and explore the rev range, just don't stay above 4k for long periods (so no highway cruising in a low gear but revving through and past 4k is totally normal and you should do. My dealership was not salient on this point)

It's definitely not going to give a read out of every RPM seen over the course of 300 miles though.

If it's like older Lotus models, it'll give you time spent at different RPMS, time spent in different gears, time spent at different throttle settings. You can read a lot about how the car has been driven.

My dealer was up front about a test drive they do for every new Emira to test out the features so they didn't deliver one without everything working. Even with that it only had 18 miles. They would have some explaining to do if it was much over that.

Mine had 6, and it was unloaded in NY, transferred to Baltimore, inspected, transferred back, and had a full tank of gas.

Not to hijack the thread, but if it is possible to get ECU data, exactly what information is it supposed to provide? Is it like an over-rev report that is available on some Porsches?

I picked mine up with 11 on the clock. I feel if I needed a month for pick up, it may have had 12 or max 13 miles for them moving it around. I don't, and maybe I am wrong, think dealers are willing to piss off customers to give potential customers a ride.

After about 8 months our Hethal yellow Lotus Emira has finally arrived at the dealer! Absolutely excited, but the first visit to see the car in person has dampen the mood quite a bit. The salesman was completely up front when we arrived and said the car needed quite a few things done to it before they passed it through PPI;

Rear bumper is missing paint. They are still working on getting a quote to respray the bumper.
Side guards are cracked (not significantly but there are hairline fractures).
Front splitter has a hairline crack.
Under side trim pieces missing.
The entire exterior paint is completely marred as if they washed it with steel wool.

The dealer apologized profusely and said that it was all being covered by Lotus, but that it was going to take some time to remedy. Before leaving they insisted we start it up to hear that great engine to remind ourselves what to look forward to. Well, upon doing so the odometer popped up and to my surprise read 327 miles. I faked enjoyment, then left afterwards without mentioning the mileage.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but what in the world is going on with this car? Is this normal? I can't help but feel something is very off. I tried looking around to find a similar spec car out there, but nothing comes close. I'd hate to walk away from something I've waited so long for with this level of personalization, but I'm honestly at a loss for words. Any advice would be appreciated and is this worth escalating or would Lotus even care?

The 718 GTS 4.0 does not drive better than the Emira. The Porsche front end has more weight, isn't as responsive to steering inputs or changes in direction and the steering isn't as accurate or communicative as the Emira. It doesn't even have double wishbone suspension for costs savings. It's looks and drives bland and is held back to live in the 911's shadow.

OP, find another Emira new or used or if you decide to get another car, get something in the Emira's league like F430, 570s, 650s, LP-560, NSX, MC20, R8, GT3 etc.

I have had a dozen Porsches in my 50+ years of driving (still have a 993 C4), and I think the Cayman 4.0 is probably technically better than the Emira in every single way- performance, reliability, usability, comfort, luggage space, resale value, etc., etc., etc.

But the Cayman is so plain-jane, so ordinary, so boring in appearance, I just could not force myself to order one, although I've gone through the configurator several times.

And so I am waiting for an imperfect but gorgeous and dramatic Emira.

We are all just lucky that in these EV times, several manufacturers are still making gas-powered enthusiast cars that are each amazing in their own ways.

To OP I would reject that car without a second thought.
I picked up mine brand new from the dealer, it had 2 miles on the clock. Perhaps if they had driven it further than 2 miles they would have found that the windscreen washer tube wasn't connected!
The paintwork on mine was also awful, lots of bird lime marks some of which had been subject to very, very poor attempts at correction.
I nearly rejected it. I knew I was having it ceramic coated so I actually told them that if my detailer thought it was too bad I would be seeking some compensation. As it was he sorted out all the problems so it was OK.
But over 300 miles on a new car? No, sorry that's a used car. I would reject and either request a NEW one or buy second hand at a much lower price.

Google the VIN…You might get hits (images too) if the car was previously offered for sale.

Personally, I would walk - too much wrong that you can see may translate to a lot more that you cannot!

My car had less than 20 miles on it when I picked it up. This HAS to be a demo car, and very low chance those 327 miles avoided sustained engine speeds over 4000rpm and staying in tour mode. So, not a standard break-in, and with all the paint and fiberglass damage--I would not accept this car as new. As others have said, this warrants a 10k price reduction, as well as correction of all issues, if you really want to keep it.
In regards to an ECU dump, I think none of the dealers have an upgraded ODBII tool that allows it (yet). New software/hardware from Geely, etc. that hasn't been distributed yet, I'm guessing.
