How many Emira owners in SoCal?

Just a short reminder the GGLC (includes Lotus Club of So Cal & San Diego Lotus Club) Emira promotion for a complimentary membership continues. More info here - https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/for-new-emira-owners-complimentary-gglc-membership.4209/

@slimjim did you end up taking delivery? I was at the grand opening event where a handful were delivered.

I just received my VIN, but wasn't on the delivery or built list , so hoping it's in mid-production 🙄
I was supposed to take delivery at the event, however, the PPF at One of One ended up being delayed a few days so the car wasn't going to be ready. Living in OC, I didn't want to make the 3hr round trip without driving back in my car - shame - it would have been great to meet in person.

Denis at Lotus of San Diego has been absolutely brilliant - I hope to pick up my car on Saturday or they will flat bed it to me in OC. Stay tuned for pics!

Receiving your VIN is great - the first time I saw mine was on the window sticker once my car arrived at the dealership lol!!

Denis did mention some folks couldn't make it, I presumed was OC customers.
What color was yours? I bet I saw it :sneaky:

Yeah - apparently there were 3 cars at One of One that are undergoing full PPFs and the owners didn't make it.
Mine is a dark verdant with black / yellow alcantara interior - I think it was supposed to be at the PPF installer's place and not at the dealership!!

Ah, maybe not then. They were half Magma and Verdant (7 total, 1Atlantis, owner was there).
Doh, I thought I had taken a picture of post reveal, but I guess not.

btw, can you share details (if you have) on how they handled transportation to one of one? I likely won't use them for PPF and have to truck it couple miles elsewhere.

I saw the reveal on instagram - looked like a lot of fun. I was also looking to see if my car was there and was revealed by someone else - thankfully not! FYI...One of One is less than a mile away from the dealership. I think someone drives the cars (Aston and Lotus) there.

I think I may have spotted you taking the picture above!

haha, nah -- my other half is in the shot, but I think at that point I was checking out the white one in the back (test drove it that night).

Nice! Does GGLC accept non-lotus cars to participate in their events (track/HPDE)?
My other half has a new car we joined its club, so would be nice to be able to drive our own cars during events :)
Not to sidetrack this thread... short answer is "Yes". Non-Lotus cars are welcome at GGLC HPDEs and Autocrosses (Non-Lotus drivers are needed to help defray costs).

I'm in Los Angeles, and a member of the motoring club here (there's also a new location being built in SF right now). I came to thinking if there's a few Emira owners in LA, we should set up a little Emira meetup, potentially at the motoring club, or if not somewhere else. I have no clue how many Emira owners are around here though. Raise of hands in the thread if you'd be interested!

Come to think of it, an any Lotus model meetup might be even better.

Galpin is taking care of everything. It’s getting fixed with free paint correction on the whole car. No questions asked. I even talked to the body shop myself and they seem to be very qualified and said it’s an easy fix. They work on all sorts of exotic cars. I think my whole car will have better paint at delivery than other buyers getting straight from factory. We’ll see how else they plan on making right by compensating me, but so far Galpin has not given me any reason to doubt them.
What body shop was that for reference 🤔

I'll be picking my meridian blue when I get back stateside in Feb, looking forward to meeting fellow socal Emira owners. Definitely will be tracking it so a group track day would be dope.

I've been eyeing some of the Speed Ventures track days in ButtonWillow or Chuckwalla.

I've run both of these (the later very, very poorly) but not in my Emira.

I've thought of taking mine to run in a blue group at a POC (Porsche Owner's Club if you are not familiar) in-between other runs. I usually only run a SPEC BSR Boxster but you will see a handful of other high horsepower cars in the 2 big non-race groups.

I haven't run Speed Ventures in 5+ (?) years. Have you run recently? I seem to remember (perhaps incorrectly) you had a lot of cowboys in cars show up which is one reason I stopped running with them.

I haven’t run with them for probably the same time. It’s been awhile. Overall I think there’s good value for money with them, but yes you are driving with randoms.

I had the same experience in the intermediate run groups. A few super aggressive drivers in clapped out dedicated race cars. I just try to give them a lot of space and avoid them on track.

Did you see Buttonwillow has a brand new track? I’m curious but want to hear reviews first. The OG track is my favorite anyways.

Running POC could be fun. What’s the cost and do you get a full day in?

In my biased opinion best track events for Lotus drivers are Lotus Club of SoCal (LCOSC) and Golden Gate Lotus Club (GGLC). And even better, new Emira owners can get a complimentary 1 year club membership and get discounted entry fees.

2025 Track Event Calendar
(black = LCOSC; green=GGLC)
Feb 1, Sat - Streets of Willow
Feb 28, Fri - Laguna Seca
Apr 17 - Sonoma Raceway
May 5 - Thunderhill East

May 25 - The Circuit @ Buttonwillow (new track)
Jun 27 - Thunderhill 5-Mile
Sep 10 - Sonoma Raceway

Nov 2 - Buttonwillow Raceway
Nov 22 - Big Willow, Willow Springs

Club events typically try to keep entry low and emphasize track time (typically you'll get 6-7 20 min sessions).

I'll add that LCOSC is famous for their 15 car run group cap, and running only 3 groups (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced). That's right only 15 cars max at any time on the track and only 3 groups. The preceding essentially means an "all you can eat" track time day. Most other groups, run materially more than this.
