I’m building a fully custom Infotainment UI

Yes it plugs in via USB, Yes phonecalls, Android Auto/Carplay all still work like factory but without the constant dropouts and need to reconnect every second day.
So when is it ready?

I dont mind a donation for the hard work 👍🏼
Building something like this as a one off as opposed to a polished product are two very different things. I'll let you guys know as soon as I'm happy with it and make a guide/list parts required, etc.

Won't be "selling" them as such. Don't have time to deal with customer support. At least no plans to at this stage.

Got the Milltek controller integrated into the UI now :)

Tap “Quiet” and it goes to OEM mode. Tap “Race” and the valve opens.

Here’s the brains btw. Plus an OBD ELM reader.

Still some tidying up to do but it’s functional for now. Yet to test thermal management properly. The battery is just so the Android system stays running all the time so it’s easy to go as soon as you start the car. Not essential but works nicely.

Flipper is just to send the RF commands to the milltek exhaust controller, so not necessary if you don’t want exhaust control and/or don’t have a milltek controller.

Can you please put a list down to order? I see a few things there. And also what software to download to have it running

As I have said numerous times now, I will share all the details once I have everything finalised and tested.

It’s still very Beta and I don’t want people spending money on something that might be unstable.

Apologise, your last message came across like accumulate the parts in the meantime with; if you want or not want this or that. Anyway will wait for the final product to role out when ready.

Appreciate your work and making it public vs just keeping to yourself. I can't wait to see initial release ... patiently waiting :)

This is awesome, good work bro. I like the idea that I could open the draggy app on the main screen of the car to show positive/negative deltas on lap times instead of having a phone fall off a suction mount on my window every few laps. Eagerly waiting and thanks for doing the hard work!

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share a teaser for a project I’m working on. I’ll keep you updated on the progress and share all the details on how you can do this yourself once I’ve got it perfected (or as close to bug free as possible).

The stock Android Automotive UI is very basic, but this adds all the functionality you could ever want including OBD2 gauges, GPS Nav, 4G internet connectivity and the ability to run any Android app you want, including Netflix, YouTube, etc.

Best part is it doesn’t require any modification to the car at all. Everything is completely plug and play into a USB port and OBD Port.

It’s not rocket science, but a tonne of time has been spent finding the right hardware/software to make everything work properly and customising the UI to make it suit the Emira.

More details soon :)

Can you add to this a forward facing camera to either be mounted to the lower nose area or on the license plate bracket ?

It is crazy to think that for a company who has ties to Mercedes Benz ( who have the very best 360 camera system built into its cars ) that Lotus only relies on the proximity sensors with no camera . Total stupidity on Lotus’s part as the proximity sensor’s senses are not 100%
