I’m now on my 3rd Mass Airflow Sensor

Usually can get it the CEL to turn on with P0111 when I’m leaving work, start in tour mode. Drive 1/2 mile, switch to sport mode. Some city driving then on the highway I go back to tour. After 5+ miles in tour as I exit the highway I go back to sport mode as I’m slowing down to the exit light and boom, CEL illuminates, goes into limp mode. Tune the car off and back on and it’s fine again.
I’ve had it triggered this way about 3-4 times.
The first time was after driving home in sport mode and being a little aggressive. As soon as I slowed down it threw the light and limp mode.

Since it’s a mass air flow code and it’s for temp out of range, it seems it only comes on when the car is warmer and/or being run harder and brought past regular running temps in the engine bay.

I haven’t had a chance to take the car in for its first service yet but I have a short list of fixes and concerns with the CEL issue at the top of that list.
Curious…Why do you change driving modes so frequently?

I drive the car in sport mode almost all the time but when I’m cruising on the freeway for more than an exit or two I go back to tour mode to keep the exhaust quiet and to turn down the throttle sensitivity.
