I4 owners with exhaust valve controller? I'm getting CEL

I just installed the exhaust valve controller, and after one drive CEL came on. My obd scanner thingy isn't working so I couldn't read the codes, but while I wait for a new one, just curious if anybody else had this issue? GRP said it's probably a coincidence, and he's forgotten more about these cars than I'll ever know, but wanted see if I'm the only one...

I4. The external miltek plug and play one.

I fit mine on my i4 3 months ago and have never had a problem. I have mine set to open at all times.

I'd double check the connectors, and also make sure the box hasn't melted.

The controller works so I don't think it's unconnected, but I'm gonna have to check it and see what the issue is. My OBD scanner wasn't working, so had to order a new one to see what the code is... maybe it is just a coincidence.

Any updates on your situation? Curious to know what the issue may have been.

Still working on it actually. I took it to the dealer to see if indeed it was something else, but they got three codes for exhaust controller. So GRP said it must be a defective controller, although it works fine. I need to take it off and then take it back to the dealer to confirm no more codes. Kind of annoying so also hoping it just will go away on its own
