In USA, is anyone paying above MSRP?

You are probably correct it is a destination change, some dealerships call it a delivery charge.
No matter the brand you will always see on the invoice the cost of the car plus destination charge. Not sure what it will be for the Emira but guessing around $2k
I think it’s actually lower, like $995

I believe that figure you quoted is a Dealer Prep Fee.
Destination charge has perhaps been previously reported by either @GatorMotorsports or @life411 as $2000 or $2200.
Both costs up your MSRP along with taxes, ttl .

Makes sense. That is what my rep told me but he may have been mistaken.

My dealer told me destination fee to be 1495

My dealer says he "thinks" destination charge will be $2300ish. Besides the delays and inflation over the last 2+ years why can't Lotus now at least firm up the destination charge? I guess they haven't had to address shipping anything to NA yet. How sad.

Thats acceptable. Anything higher put you at $110K with taxes for an I4. That puts you in a different league to me.
Hey, the lower the better. Interesting WSJ item today on shipping cost trends.

Dallas DEFINITELY charges over MSRP. I was told $10k over MSRP for a car that someone backed out of plus they slapped a mandatory XPEL ceramic coating fee on it and say it’s already done to the car.
I was going to wrap it so didn’t want the coating but it is what it is. Also $10k over MSRP sucks and I could wait a few month and get a used one or maybe another car that someone else didn’t pick up even after Carb certs but I Would rather secure one as soon as possible 😅

Is it $10K on top of the original $95K or $105K? If it's the 95, I don't mind the dealer reselling at the current rate. Honestly makes sense to protect the value of all the other cars. Also if the person backed out after putting on XPEL, I understand the dealer wanting to recoup it.

It’s $10k after the $105k base FE price plus upgrades so it’s $109k + $10k and for the xpell they said they automatically put it on every car they get

Ok. Well $10K on top of the $105K is a different story.

Yeah… unfortunately it’s the only option I have to get a new car as soon as CARB certs is done and without waiting another year or so for a FE 2.0 🥲
You might want to shop around. If you don't mind traveling a bit and are flexible on the build spec I bet you can find something at MSRP. Others here have claimed to have success.

I called quite a few dealers and couldn’t find any that had some on hand that were not allocated yet :(. Austin told me they might have a couple but still won’t know until after carb has passed but I’m sure there is a list of people waiting on the cars already. Plus I heard stories of other dealers giving a quote and then adding all kind of extra fees upwards of $19k on the final invoice. I also want a shadow gray car so not the easiest to find

I was told the same on this. I was curious if there were any cars for sale outside of being ordered. So I called from AZ to FL and got some varied responses. Interestingly Dallas (near me) is the only one that said they had cars available after CARB to buy and are $10k over $105k-ish. A dealer in FL said they might have one become available at 1.0 MSRP plus $7500 markup.
Naples with all those cars said order only. That all their cars have $10k locked in deposits.

You should contact @R1272 he was claiming that he and the 4C forums had dealers willing to take less than MSRP on orders. I don't believe it personally, but that was his claim.
