I know this is a known issue, but this is the first time I heard that it's now a recall. My SR said it's very new, which is why my car didn't get it last month. They ordered parts and I will have to go back to have it replaced (no CEL so far).

Well I'll have my dealer do that tomorrow when they're replacing my O2 sensor.

Can someone explain what this does or why this would be updated? Just wondering if it's totally necessary since my dealer is 3.5 hours one way..

Thanks

EVAP canister takes fuel vapors from your fuel tank and redirect them back to the combustion process in order to reduce emissions. From what I’ve read — there seems to be a flaw in the feeder tube to the canister that causes actual fuel to enter the canister. This triggers some CELs. Effectively they’re weighing the canister in grams to see how much fuel it has absorbed to see if it can still be effective at trapping vapors.

Thanks for the detailed response.. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the information KitKat, I did wonder what it was all about, I had this recall done before I picked my car up, it only had eleven miles on the clock and the canister was already 60g over weight:oops:
