It has a lot to do with torque, which is what the Emira needs more of. Torque is what gets you off the line and moving. Just out of curiosity, I pulled the stats for the Emira vs the C8, some Porsche's and I threw the Alfa Quadrifoglio in.Once my warranty is over, I intend to fit the 3rd cat delete pipe, then the 430 tune with the raised rev limit.
What I’m struggling to get my head around is I had an F-Type V6S that had 380bhp. That car is way heavier than the Emira, with apparently 20bhp less, yet it was faster 0-60
You'd be surprised. The lighter a car is to begin with, the more of a difference further weight reduction makes. It could be the Porsche trans is quicker from 1st to 2nd, I've not driven one so I can't say for sure, but that would be my guess. The Emira manual trans doesn't shift very quick overall, and 1st to 2nd is the slowest.Going by that table. the bottom 2 should be almost exactly the same 0-60, yet the 718 is a whole 0.4 secs quicker. I dont see 70lbs making that much of a difference.
FWIW: the 0 to 60 time for a stock C8 Z51 is really 2.9 seconds. I won't talk about runs made by some owners, in even less time. GM later acknowledged it initially advertised the 3.0 time, knowing it would do 2.9. This from a former C8 Z51 owner and current Emira fanboy, who enjoys the "more raw sport feel" and cornering of the Emira, over the C8.It has a lot to do with torque, which is what the Emira needs more of. Torque is what gets you off the line and moving. Just out of curiosity, I pulled the stats for the Emira vs the C8, some Porsche's and I threw the Alfa Quadrifoglio in.
As you can see, the cars with the least amount of torque had the slowest 0-60, even though they were also two of the lightest. They were both manuals too, which shows the advantage an automatic can have. You'll also notice the two cars with the most torque had good times, and even though the Alfa was the heaviest, it had the most power and that gave it a decent time.
Gearing has something to do with it too, but the Emira could really benefit from more torque. Once you get above 3k rpms, it pulls quite well so it has power, it just feels soft until you get to 3k, and 0-3k rpm is where your launch is and most of your 0-60 times are.

How much of a difference did the Jubu440 make over standard? You said you had it for a while, did you remove it and if so, why? This is also something that I dont understand… i was running the jubu440 for a while… on paper it had 465hp and 490ish nm yet my friend with a stock emira was pulling same if not better as mine both manual… while I was able to yank it up to 7200rpm and he had to change gear at 6800. Its maybe because of the ‘old’ engine… its not as an advanced new engine.. i think thats the main problem. I have let go the 0-100 times long time ago, i just want an agile car that pulls well in gear.. enough to beat a porsche carrera s/gts… on paper the carrera s has 414hp and 500nm so in terms of performance my jubu440 would easily beat that one.. but unfortunately tested with 991.2 and still beats the shit out of me.. while I am maybe 50kg’is lighter
Thanks. Sorry for another question, but does the decaf and filter make much difference over stock?I did remove it and return it to jubu.. to many unresolved problem. On paper it was pulling 468+hp and 490+nm but in reality i only felt the increase in rpm.. and problems that came along. I did dynod it, i did test it with none jubu emira same mods (decat + air filter) there was absolutely no different from pulls from 0 to pulls from gear. Such a disappointment. Im sure there was power gain maybe available on track use but there was absolutely no significant increase in real power..
Am I right in saying that exhaust emissions aren’t measured in the MOT, so removing the cat isn’t detected? I guess it voids warranty though.I think it gives in total like 20hp more together. IVe never done a baseline dyno so its hard to tell but im guessing its more or less 20hp
It got up to 468hp and you didn’t feel it??I did remove it and return it to jubu.. to many unresolved problem. Yeah this surprises me as well because that's an increase of 53 ft lbs of torque over stock. With that much of an increase, the car should have launched like a rocket. Is the increase only above a certain rpm?It got up to 468hp and you didn’t feel it??
You’re right these are within 20hp of bone stock cars — that’s a lot of money to pay for very little gain.View attachment 56116
This were numbers before remote session… after the session everything was shit and my friend with stock emira 1on1 when we did the test
A mate of mine has a 2023 manual Cayman GTS and using a Draggy meter said the average 0-100 kph he gets is 4.4. I checked on the Porsche site and that says 4.5. I have no doubt there are variables like being run in, tyres, whether etc., but he said he has never gone below 4.38.It has a lot to do with torque, which is what the Emira needs more of.
