Hi

Does anyone have experience with this type of cover ?

Is there any reason not to take this over PPF or Ceramic coating. I don’t have any experience with this, but the cost seems very reasonable If in three years, you could get them to touch up chips and scrapes 18 times. Or is the quality of the work usually not very subtle ?

Cheers

I just ordered this in my checkout process...going to see how the ppf options pan out with 3rd party vendors for designs for stripes and decals before committing to that...and as you say seems entirely reasonable at up to 18 callouts in 3 years for a mobile detailer to come out and do the cosmetic repairs.

I've taken it on mine but not claimed yet. Will prob do first claim in a month or two once weather better, the panel in front of the rear wheels has taken an absolute battering already!

I had chips and scratches on mine. There are a few weak areas.
My views on what 'seems' like thin paint and not great Lacquer are well known.
The Emira has some protection on that rear hind but we are getting a better picture now of the areas that could/should be PPF'd on top of any protection from Lotus.

I had this insurance on my Jag F Pace. Made 2 claims on it.

Once when someone scratched the top of the door in a car park (Think some hit the car with a bag or something similar), reported it on a Tuesday, with the Jag insurance I filled in an online form with pictures showing a ruler alongside the scratch. They came out the following week and repainted the scratch area (could not tell it had been repaired) they also gave me a little pot of paint to touch up a any stone chips I might find after they went.

The second time was just prior to trading the car in, I called in all the stone chips on the bonnet and a scratch on the boot by the loading area. Same process for reporting a week later they came out and repaired it all again. Handed the car over cosmetically perfect after 3 years and 40000 miles.

No excess and no argument with the insurer, best £300 option I have ever taken on a new car purchase. Have done it with the Emira as well, even though this time I am having PPF from new.

Ade (and equally any other Emira owners) , can you clarify where the areas prone to chips are? I appreciate the front bumper, bonnet and sills are particularly at risk. However, if I go down the partial ppf route (pared back to keep cost as low as possible) I am keen to ensure that I don't overlook an Emira-specific vulnerability. I may also go for the cosmetic paint insurance product too, If I don't go overboard with the ppf.
